CSI Team would like to encourage you to
Design the Next SMART Handheld device using Google Sketchup.
There are several ways you can participate in the CSI Smart Phone Design Challenge..
1. A teacher can lead a class through one of several activities that help students experience the challenge of design using this Challenge 2 Lesson Plan
2. Students can [Register] then Participate Online in a MINI- Online Class that guides them through this challenge of design. The online class is made up of 5 learning tasks leading to the Final Challenge.
3. Students can use prior experience and online research to prepare a Smart Phone Design using Google Sketchup and bring it to the UVM E-Week (March 10, 2011) and compete in the Smart Phone Competition. Pre-Registration Required.

(for elementary and middle school students). NEW: DESIGN FOR THE FUTURE! Envision everyone carrying a gadget that fills all your tech needs! Play music, surf the Web, and make phone calls, and you can also use it to do homework. Register to compete in this new challenge. Students are asked to create a design for this new Smart Phone idea and present those drawings and ideas to judges! Students should make designs using Google Sketchup (Free) and bring a CD or thumbdrive to event. AutoCad and other 3D software can be used, but students must bring their own computers to the event to demonstrate. Posters are also acceptable.
