Dear Vermont Department of Education:

I have been in conversation with Lucie deLaBruere and George Raynak who have

shared with me their ideas for a project that supports the development of Creativity and

Innovation in Vermont Schools.

I support the concepts expressed in this project proposal and am interested in supporting

the project by working with the project developers to increase the awareness of teachers

and students about College and Career Opportunities related to Creativity and Innovation.

We have discussed several options including a field trip to Champlain College to learn

more about the college majors related to creativity and innovation, such as Game Design,

Game Art & Animation, and Game Programming. We have also discussed using Skype

or other video conferencing for students in the project to interview some Champlain

College students from some of Champlain’s clubs and organizations, such as Women’s

Center or various Open Source Community Clubs. Moreover, we have discussed the

possibility of some peer mentoring between Champlain students and the students in this

program.

I am interested in working with the project organizers to implement one or more of these

ideas to support the goals of this project.
