" My mother had a dream."---Tamara Nikuradse

Dream big, take small steps, make each day meaningful, carpe diem & Go for the Gold!: For some it begins with a fairy tale, then thoughts of a dream date,a dream car,a dream job,a dream home, a dream wedding and thoughts of a dream vacation;for others it begins at home with a dream or vision of a parent ,older sibling, close relative, or a historical figure,a dream. Dreams of a higher education, dreams of a white wedding, dreams of owning a home, dreams of a owning business, dreams of traveling the world, dreams, visions,a ruling passion,a motivating force within a dreamers life. For many of us it's our dreams that fuels our passions and propels us into the throngs of life. In 1971,I didnt have any dreams or aspirations,I didnt even know what it meant to dream. Several years after I had entered into the world, I had to learn to walk,to talk,to read,to write, and eventually to dream. To dream meant I was human, admittedly, the majority of my dreams was heavily influence by those things and objects I had been surrounded with such as infant toys, public television, public radio and so forth. As I grew the dreams evolved into bigger dreams,I went from wanting a toy to wanting toys. Ostensibly,as each us grow, learn and observe others ours dreams become more intricate and detailed. For example, I first began to dream of being a teacher as a kindergarten student,of course those dreams began to occur after years of making observations of adults on public television in kid friendly shows such as Captain Kangaroo ,(one my favorites )along with Sesame Street,The Letter People,321 Contact ,Electric Company,Mr Peabody and few others. Veritably, television, and the public classroom heavily influenced and steered my dreams.Big dreams, small dreams, dreams they all derive from some place and eventually leads each us to a specific path. A dream,it was a dream in 1990 that lead me to FAMU. Quite astonishingly, fifteen years ago,at the age of twenty-seven,I walked the across the stage at the Leon County Civic center in Tallahassee to accept and to receive my Bachelor of Arts degree in English. As I walked across the stage in my cap and gown thousands of FAMU alumnae, students, staff, and faculty watched the graduating class of 1997,the day I often talked about with family and friends and dreamed about from the very first day I had been accepted to the University had finally arrived. In addition to thousands watching from their seats__sitting in the audience was several of my family members and friends including My Not So Little Sibling who was only eight years old on the day I graduated from FAMU. As it turned out,the day very much resembled my high school graduation only bigger .Somehow with prayer, guts, determination to make it to the end and with the help of a bunch sister girl friends,I survived four years of college-life. Yes,I had a brief intermitten, recess, a moment to regroup and re gain focus on the road to graduation. Amazingly,I didnt let the brief intermitten stop me from pursuing a dream of a higher education. Remarkably,I had survived college-life with only a few bumps and bruises to show that I had actually attended a four year University. To get to that day, graduation day,I had to take a few small steps. small steps. Before I could graduate from high school or FAMU,I had to do my homework, first__,I had to learn to listen to my elders,I had to learn to sit still,I had to learn to follow directions,I had to learn to watch the attitude,be respectful mindful of classroom rules and take constructive criticism for twelve years in a state public school system regardless of my personal opinion. Small steps,Im not talking about requesting an application,or filling out an application to attend a State University, instead,I am referring to all the steps between the bed and the school house. Waking up in morning, getting to homeroom on time, and following the class schedule without adult supervision. Small steps, small steps that today to some young adolescences and teens might sound like rules, regulations, and forms of punishments.small steps. If there's one thing you should know when I hear of the names of influential people, professional athletes, scholars, entertainers, and mentors, such as Gaby Douglas,Madame CJ Walker,Robin Roberts,Bill Gates,Susan L Taylor,Rosa Parks,Babara Walters,Tim Bow,Eli Manning ,Wes Moore,Oprah Winfrey,Steve Harvey,Dr. Maya Angelou,Kobe Bryant,Wendy Williams,Yvonne Vera, and former USA Miss Kenya Moore,I am reminded of the small steps within that same instance I am also reminded that it all began with a dream. Imagine for a moment if you will the overwhelming feeling of meekness when I first learned that My Not So Little Sibling was graduating from Saint Leo University this May,among other feelings I felt proud,I felt as if I had lead by example in all the foibles, foils, and follies of I experienced in life,I had an impact on a young life. In tradition,a family tradition,My Not So Little Sibling journey begins at a place where I stood fifteen years ago. Since graduation day, what began as a dream has evolved, and shifted shaped, certainly, none of the task I've achieved would of been perceivable without a dream, dream big and take small steps. As the dream evolves,I am learning to make each day meaningful.

So, Why Don’t You Tell Me About Yourself? By Linda Matias, CareerStrides

“So, why don’t you tell me about yourself?” is the most frequently asked interview question. It’s a question that most interviewees expect and the one they have the most difficulty answering. Though one could answer this open-ended question in a myriad of ways, the key to answering this question or any other interview question is to offer a response that supports your career objective. This means that you shouldn’t respond with comments about your hobbies, spouse, or extra curricular activities. Trust me, interviewers aren’t interested.

Interviewers use the interview process as a vehicle to eliminate your candidacy. Every question they ask is used to differentiate your skills, experience, and personality with that of other candidates. They want to determine if what you have to offer will mesh with the organization’s mission and goals.

If answered with care, your response to the question, “So, why don’t you tell me about yourself?” could compliment the interviewers needs as well as support your agenda. This is a question you should be prepared to answer as opposed to attempting to “wing it”.

Follow the four easy steps outlined below to ensure your response will grab the interviewers attention.

  1. Provide a brief introduction. Introduce attributes that are key to the open position.

Sample introduction: During my 10 years’ of experience as a sales manager, I have mastered the ability to coach, train, and motivate sales teams into reaching corporate goals.

  1. Provide a career summary of your most recent work history. Your career summary is the “meat” of your response, so it must support your job objective and it must be compelling. Keep your response limited to your current experience. Don’t go back more than 10 years.

Sample career summary: Most recently, at The Widget Corporation, I was challenged with turning around a stagnant territory that ranked last in sales in the Northeastern region. Using strategies that have worked in the past, I developed an aggressive sales campaign that focused on cultivating new accounts and nurturing the existing client base. The results were tremendous. Within six months my sales team and I were able to revitalize the territory and boost sales by 65%.

  1. Tie your response to the needs of the hiring organization.Don’t assume that the interviewer will be able to connect all the dots. It is your job as the interviewee to make sure the interviewer understands how your experiences are transferable to the position they are seeking to fill.

Sample tie-in: Because of my proven experience in leading sales teams, Craig Brown suggested I contact you regarding your need for a sales manager. Craig filled me in on the challenges your sales department is facing.

  1. Ask an insightful question.By asking a question you gain control of the interview. Don’t ask a question for the sake of asking. Be sure that the question will engage the interviewer in a conversation. Doing so will alleviate the stress you may feel to perform.

Sample question: What strategies are currently underway to increase sales and morale within the sales department?

There you have it – a response that meets the needs of the interviewer AND supports your agenda.

When broken down into manageable pieces, the question, “So, tell me about yourself?” isn’t overwhelming. In fact, answering the question effectively gives you the opportunity to talk about your strengths, achievements, and qualifications for the position. So take this golden opportunity and run with it!

(100 Twitter Tips,Twittin Secrets Tips andTwitter Twenius)#25-33

(25)Don't keep your Twitter account a secret. Add your Twitter link to online, offline and mobile spots. Business cards, SMS text messages, Billboards, classified ads, yard signs, stickers, flyers, yellow pages, phone message machine, and every other place you can think of. Why not add Twitter to your car: "Introducing The Mini-Twitter - taking the Mini-Cooper to a whole new level!" ==> Tweet This

(26)Add your Twitter message (example: "Follow Me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/dhollings") on all your online profile pages: FaceBook, Google Local, Amazon.com, Your Blog, YouTube, Naymz, Zoominfo, Ustream.tv, LinkedIn, MySpace, ReJaw, MerchantCircle, Ecademy, Pownce, Bebo, Profilactic, Tumblr, etc etc ==> Tweet This

(27)Send invites by email and regular mail to your connections (friends, employees, prospects, customers, etc); those most appropriate for the Twitter content or conversation your Twitter page will engage in. ==> Tweet This

(28)SEO your web pages, blog, and other online pages with Twitter in mind. Add your "Follow Me" message in your title tags and meta description (where appropriate). Create dedicated pages on your site or blog that are Twitter related and link to them (both internally and inbound) with your "Follow Me" message and Twitter username. Example (see top listings & site links - these may vary over time):

(29)Local businesses should explore GPS tools that integrate with Twitter (likewww.gpstwit.com) and seek out connections with local Twitter users using advanced Twitter search tools like: http://search.twitter.com/advanced - By entering keywords related to your business topic and restricting your search to X number of miles near your location, you may discover Twitter customers that would love to follow your Twittering. Also explore TwitterLocal. Think local, think creatively. ==> Tweet This

(30)Use Tweetlater.com (or better yet, use Postlater) to autorespond by email and auto-follow your new Twitter followers. Tweetlater also allows you to load up tweets in advance for future postings......even doing COUNTDOWNS as was done upon releasing Twittin' Secrets. Make your autoresponder message very folksy, very human, very non-business like. Make is so anyone reading it thinks you typed it personally at the moment. ==> Tweet This

(31) Including a link to something in your Twitter autoresponder email is good, but ONLY if the link goes to something really related and really interesting. Track the link, page or download file that it links to so you can gage if new followers are clicking or not. A followers interest is at its highest point immediately after they start following. Your goal is to secure enough interest (that is, muster up the Twitter WOW-factor) so they remember who you are and actually read your future tweets. Feel free to send anyone a link to these "Twittin' Secrets" #19-36: http://www.squidoo.com/twittinsecrets - for that alone might help cement you in as a real Twittin' friend. ==> Tweet This

(32)A general "rule of thumb" is to follow back MOST of those that follow you. To not follow-back can seem rude. However, following back username "JackTheRipper" might send the wrong message to your other followers if you're in the Ginzu Knife business. In other words, use good judgement. ==> Tweet This

What took you so long? Savings and Rewards. A great deal,a really good find,a price you wont find anywhere else, and the best price among competitors,I love a great sale and I love rewards for shopping. Savings and Rewards, for most consumers and shoppers,it's all about getting the best price for items purchase daily. From household supplies to groceries, anyone who shops frequently knows consumers and shoppers love a really good sale_,the economic recession of 2008 could be the culprit. In fact, since the 2008 economic recession savings and rewards has become extremely important to American families on a budget. For many American consumers and shoppers, the unexpected downturn of the American economy caused a disruption in their daily activies thus forcing consumer and shoppers to rethink the way they shop and how they shop. As a frequent shopper and consumer,I am constantly looking for a great deal and sales on items I purchase regularly, mainly because I do live on a strict budget. Admittedly, after the 2008 economic recession,I rediscovered coupons, and began clipping coupons frequently. In addition to clipping coupons,I also began to check sale ads at home and at the door of stores before shopping. Along with making a shopping list, clipping coupons at home, checking sale ads at the door and comparing prices, these days one of the best ways to save and get the best deals,I feel without a question has to be with a savings and reward card. And speaking honestly, a savings and rewards card from your local chain store should be a consumer or shoppers BF(bestie). A must have for consumers and shoppers who seriously want to save,a savings and rewards card. Today, most local chain stores ask customers if they have a savings and reward card or if they'd like a savings and reward cards, make no qualms about it ,if you want the best deals and prices get a savings and reward card.---cacjohnson

Compact, light weight, easy to carry, and often contains a lot of important information,a portable desktop, the Smart Phone is one the hottest items on the Consumer Market. From photos to contact numbers to passwords, files and documents, the Smart Phone has the capability to hold a large amount of information. Egregiously,in this day and age,a tantamount of consumers and shoppers who use Smart Phones frequently might experience some agitation or a slight uneasiness if their Smart Phone happens to get misplaced or suddenly disappears. Veritably,as Editor,Founder and President of csaccac Inc.,I do so much in the course of a day. Frequently, throughout the day I require the use of my Smart Phone. Although,I like to stay in close contact with my Smart Phone,it is very easy to get distracted while performing various task that dont require the use of my Smart Phone. On numerous days, I've freaked out because I couldnt remember where I put my lipstick, lipgloss,or,ID. And Ive had moments where I totally flipped out because I couldnt find my Smart Phone at the bottom of my handbag. Like most Smart Phone owners,I use my Smart Phone daily to check emails_to get the latest community news and weather. And in all honesty,my Smart Phone contains a lot of personal and professional information that I wouldnt want to be randomly perused through by complete strangers. Admittedly,Ive had a few scares where I thought my Smart Phone had been taken and not misplaced. As a result,I definitely know the horrible feeling one often gets at the pit of their stomach when they feel as if they've lost something valuable such as a pet or their Smart Phone. Even though,I like to keep tabs on my Smart Phone at all times_,I do have moments when I have to pause a few seconds to make sure my Smart Phone is where I placed at the start of the day. For some reason that I hadnt articulated verbally or non verbally, instead of securing my Smart Phone immediately after I purchased my Smart Phone,I waited several weeks to install an app to locate my Smart Phone. Weeks after purchasing my third Smart Phone from Virgin Mobile for safety and security measures,I chose to protect my Smart Phone. Outrageously bad,it took a few months after I upgraded my Smart Phone to download several apps including an antivirus app to protect my Smart Phone from viruses plus an app to locate my Smart Phone anywhere in the USA in case of theft. During the entire process, while learning how to use my Smart Phone,I also dedicated sometime to learn how to protect my Smart Phone from unauthorized users and theft. To conclude,Ive listed below a few universal steps for all types of Smart Phone owners who want to know how to protect their Smart Phone from the unexpected.

(5) Create a password to lock and unlock your Smart Phone from unauthorized users or in case of theft.

(4)Keep important information in another location other than your Smart Phone for instance, goole doc,a microSD,or a flash drive.

(3) Install an antivirus app to keep files and documents from being corrupted.

(2) Do not open emails from unidentified servers

(1) And lastly, get a Scream My Phone App that will locate your phone on mute or when the ringer is turned off.
