Setting up GiBUU Generator

The GiBUU generator is a large software project by the theoretical physicists at the University of Giessen in Germany. The software performs calculations to model certain hadronic reactions. It is very useful because the output is a cocktail of the various reactions possible. It can generate reactions with either electron, neutrino, photon, or nuclei beams on nuclei. The targets can be of the fixed or collider type.

The home page can be found at the GiBUU hepforge.

Go to the bottom of that page under Using GiBUU. The things to do are:

  1. Download the software.
  2. Check the prerequisites before installing.
  3. Compile the software.
  4. Run GiBUU.
