Bounded on the South by Euclid Avenue

Bounded on the West by E. 30th St.  (called Sterling Ave. before 1906)

Bounded on the East by E. 55th St.  (called Willson Ave. before 1906)


This neighborhood was originally part of Cleveland Township.

The Goodrich - Kirtland Park area was annexed to the City of Cleveland in 1850.  Industries developed north of St. Clair Avenue.  Slovenians, Lithuanians, Croatians, Germans and Poles settled in this area.  The Croatians formed St. Paul's Catholic Church in 1904 at E. 40th and St. Clair.  They also formed St. Nicholas' Byzantine Catholic Church in 1913 at E. 34 and Superior.  Also found in this neighborhood is Immaculate Conception Church at E. 41st and Superior which was founded in 1873.
