The Fairfax area was settled originally by New Englanders and European immigrants in the late 1800s. Fairfax is home to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, the Cleveland Playhouse, The Health Museum and Karamu House.

St. Joseph Cemetery - 7916 Woodland
St. John Cemetery - 7000 Woodland
St. Joseph and St. John Cemeteries are Catholic cemeteries and their records are kept at Calvary Cemetery and also at the Diocese of Cleveland. This is Cleveland's oldest Catholic cemetery.
