Image of the City, Great Streets, and Dr. Mark's Guide to Urban Design

I added three references for helping you to understand urban design. See the Stage 2 pages. To summarize, it presents three resources:

1. Image of the City, by Kevin Lynch. This book describes five features of cities that lead to memorable images: path, node, landmark, edge, and district.
2. Great Streets is a book by Allan Jacobs that includes substantial information about various streets around the world and provides recommendations for how to design a great street.
3. Dr. Mark's Guide is based on my own travels and observations of cities and defines several decisions that you must make to produce great urban design: scale, urban form, building form, style, density, and facade. I have provided photos from my collection to give you ideas for how you might design Century Square.

Since many of you have thought of including a market or grocery store, I have compiled photos of a dozen or so grocery markets and malls around the world.
