May 5, 2015:
For the second year, our memorial wreath-laying ceremony was held at our Memorial to the Fallen dedicated in the 2014 ceremony.  The monument surroundings were spruced up with new plantings by CWSG volunteers including Pete & Cathy Rainey, Craig Rains, Joe Rokus, and Bob Johnson.   The invocation during the program was given by Pastor Adam Coulson of Lake of the Woods Church.  President Craig Rains gave a moving commentary of the reasons for this memorial.  Folksinger John Tole of Rappahannock County sang "Wilderness Run", a song he wrote and composed for the event.  Taps was sounded by Roy Perry of the Matthew Fontaine Maury Camp, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Fredericksburg.

On May 5, 2014:
The Civil War Study Group held a ceremony to remember those from both North and South who were killed or missing in action on the Orange County portion of the Wilderness battlefield 150 years ago. A new monument was dedicated at the entrance to the Wilderness Battlefield Park at the corner of the Lake of the Woods Church parking lot.  This is the venue for this remembrance going forward!   In prior years, this ceremony was a wreath laying at the battlefield monument on Saunders Field near the intersection of Constitution Highway (the old Orange Turnpike) and Hill-Ewell Road.
