On Saturday, Nov. 14 Lake of the Woods Church-sponsored Cub Scout Pack 197 spent some active time cleaning our historic panels, and cleaning up leaves and twigs, especially at the Memorial to the Fallen (LOW Church) and the Spotswood Cemetery (north of the intersection of Spotswood Rd and Lake View Parkway). This was a service day that came into being as a result of conversations between CWSG Vice President Jack Phend and Pack Leader Jack Simons.
Scouts put the finishing touches on the panel at Cornwallis Beach
Scouts clean markers and remove leaves, etc., around Memorial the the Fallen
at the far corner of the LOW Church parking lot
Scouts pose next to a newly cleaned panel at Woods Center
Scouts clean up leaves and other debris at the Spotswood Cemetery
We look forward to the continuation of this partnership. We hope that in the process of doing their service work the Cubs were able to take time to read the history on the panels and markers.
