Varamozhi

Varamozhi is a group of software programs that enable your computer to read and write Malayalam. This group includes a Unicode font, a key mapping application, and a transliteration based text editor.

Mozhi

Mozhi is the transliteration scheme (Manglish key sequence) used by Varamozhi applications.

Unicode

A unique numbering scheme for every character of every script in the world. English 'A' has the value 65. Malayalam അ has the value 3333. Following this standard, every document or computer application can show a text in Malayalam without relying on a particular Malayalam font.

Anjali

AnjaliOldLipi is the Malayalam Unicode font included in Varamozhi. It displays letters and conjuncts in traditional old lipi.

Mozhi Keyman

Mozhi Keyman is the name of the key mapping program included in Varamozhi. Using Mozhi Keyman, one can write Malayalam in Unicode in both Windows and Linux. It uses Mozhi transliteration scheme.

Varamozhi Editor

Varamozhi Editor is the name of the transliteration based text editor included in Varamozhi group of applications. Using Varamozhi Editor, one can write Malayalam in ASCII hacked Malayalam fonts like ML-TTKarthika, Matweb etc. Also one can convert the document written in one of these fonts to Unicode.
