Primary source analysis paper #4: The Scientific Revolution
Why did the western world begin to approach science in such a new way in the early modern period? What were some of the background reasons for approach the world in such a new manner? How does Francis Bacon’s Novum Organum reflect the new worldview? What changes occurred in astronomy or medicine during this period? Why were they controversial? Finally, in what ways were the intellectual, political, and religious developments of the 17th century related?
Use your textbook and the following readings to write an essay analyzing the causes and effects of the Scientific Revolution.
