Read your textbook for relevant facts about Native Americans and their relations with European immigrants. Then, carefully read the six documents listed above. Write an essay analyzing how attitudes and policies toward Native Americans changed over time.
Address the following questions: What attitudes did Europeans have toward Native Americans when they first encountered each other? How did Europeans’ attitudes toward Native Americans develop over time? How did Native Americans react to Europeans? Did the role of religion change over time? What was the overall effect of European encounters with Native Americans?
You must cite your sources, and list them at the end of your paper as a List of References.
