This was a wartime effort set up by the Donaldson-Hudson family in the old sawmill on the Cheswardine Estate on Tag Lane, Chipnall.
John Donaldson-Hudson was responsible for the setting up of this factory during the second world war to assist in the production of food from within the United Kingdom.
Bernard Lazarus wrote an article about the Macaroni factory which appeared in the Cheswardine Parish Magazine.
Contrary to opinion, the Italian prisoners of war billeted in the village hall were not employed at this factory.
The following cutting appeared in the Newport Advertiser in March 1950 relating to the liquidation of the company in that year.
