A couple of forced changes to the team that came back from 2 down last week saw the captain Chris Yates return to partner Adam Stuart in centre of midfield and debutant Aiden McCumisky start alongside Steve 'Bruce' at the heart of the defence.

We started brightly and took the lead through Gregg Unsworth when he raced clear and passed the ball into the net. Poynton were let in for one, then shortly after we regained the lead through Dean McGregor. Again Poynton were let back in much to our dismay on the line. Dean put us back in front before the break after a ten minute spell of cracking football, which eased the tone of the half time team talk.

A couple of niggling injuries forced us into changing things round with Jake Ankers and Ole Gunnar Quigley getting a good chunk of the second half. Matty Oldfield on the wing helped himself to a couple of goals and Quiggers added to his late goal tally.

Poynton grabbed a couple more to make the final score 6-4 to us and despite conceding four, the candidates for Man of the Match actually came from defence. Matty Tighe and Chris Yates ran Steve Heaton close but 'Brucie' put in another top performance to eclipse them both.

Danny Basden made his debut on the left wing replacing Jimmy Leeson who seems to have lost his 'Thunder'! I hope it's only temporary.

It's great we're scoring now but can't help feeling disappointed about leaking goals the way we do.
