With 19 to choose from the week before and the 3 absentees back from holiday this should have been a nightmare to pick a side from...but no - ALCOHOL abuse has struck our squad! The 'drink culture' has got a grip and must be rid of.

We scraped together a team after being let down by numerous individuals and actually played quite well. We went 2 nil down on the best Torkington Park pitch seen in years but we persevered and got our reward.

Gregg Unsworth who worked unselfishly throughout bagged a belter to get us back in it. With 5 minutes to go his strike partner Dean McGregor pulled us level with a typically cool finish. Another few minutes on the clock and we'd have definitely took all 3 points!

Captain Adam Stuart worked tirelessly and claimed the Man of the Match award. He was run closely by centre half Steve 'Bruce' Heaton whose commitment which is never in doubt was stretched to the limit by playing through the pain barrier with a swollen ankle for the good of the club. Similarly can be said of Matt Tighe who took one in the 'Jacobs' but after regaining consciousness picked himself up for a tidy second half.

More of the attitude shown by those present wouldn't go a miss for those that weren't. You know who you are.

Top of the table for a week at least, albeit that 1st and 2nd were in cup match's.
