In this the 1st Cheadle Charity Shield match, the present crop had most of the possession in the first half only for the 'Old Boys' to hit them on the counter just before half time with a typically cool characteristic finish from Gary Conner burrowing into Matty Greenwoods right hand corner.
After the break Cheadle FC came back into the game with their captain Adam Stuart leading by example, a couple of quality strikes from the young playmaker saw Cheadle take control. As Cheadle began to find debutant Russ O'Donnels feet, the football flowed around him and the present Cheadle FC cruised to a 5 - 1 win.
The game was played in a good spirit, marred slightly by the consistent moaning from the ironically named 'Scouse'.
Thanks to everyone involved - the players who all contributed in sweat and with gold, Kat Davey the referee who kept the mighty Wardle in her pocket and the Crown for laying on the post match meal.
Same time next year lads!
