Join Team Chantville Pokemon League in the upcoming Play! Pokémon Team Challenge!

Read about this fun, competitive, new online Pokémon TCG tournament where players can create four-person teams with their local game store and compete for prizes and glory! The tournament is open to Masters Division players. Here's your chance to play an officially sanctioned Pokemon event, represent Chantville Pokemon League, hang out with the awesome Pokémon community online, and win TCGO codes, Ultra Pro Goodie bags, playmats, and more! Schedule

Qualifiers 1st Period: December 5 - December 19, 2020

Holiday Break: December 20, 2020 - January 5, 2021

Qualifiers 2nd Period: January 6 - February 28, 2021

Play-Offs: March 20 - End of May 2021

Grand Final: End of May 2021 (TBA)

Getting Started

• Registration for the first weekend of tournaments on December 5 opens on November 27

  1. Sign up for the RK9 Labs Platform starting November 27. Reg ends at Noon on Dec 5.

  2. Submit your decklist before 12:30 pm on Dec 5.

  3. Check our Events calendar for the scheduled Qualifier events from December through February.

  4. Register to play in one or all of our Qualifier events.
     *The winner of a Qualifier cannot play in a future Qualifier tournament

• Chantville Pokemon League and the Fantastic Store will run 4 Qualifiers, the minimum required to qualify for the Play-offs, if our team makes Top Cut

• The winner of each Qualifier tournament will compose the team of 4 players representing Chantville Pokemon League that continues to the Play-offs.

• Format: 2021 Standard including the Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield—Vivid Voltage expansion. The format will be updated to include new expansions as they launch.

League Zoom Session

Join us on Sat, 11/21 for our next League Zoom session starting at 2:00 pm. So mark your calendars as we'll have a couple of guest presenters for this special pre-Thanksgiving session! Attendees will earn special League code cards.

PTCGO Tourney

Chantville League PTCGO Tournament set for Sat, 11/14! League Leader Justin is running this fun tourney. Join our Discord to sign up (in the #tournament-sign-ups channel). We use Battlefy to coordinate and track progress. Check-in starts at 12:30 pm and the tournament will start at 1:00 pm. The winner will earn virtual booster packs and all participants will earn special League code cards that can be redeemed on PTCGO.

Vivid Voltage Prerelease event

Sword and Shield Vivid Voltage Prerelease event  set for Sat, 11/7! David Tuskey from Richmond plans to come up from Richmond to host a prerelease event at the Fantastic Store on Sat, 11/7. Check-in at the store between Noon and 12:30.

If you miss this prerelease event, you will be able to buy the prerelease battle kit at the Fantastic Store starting Monday, Nov 9. The official release date where it is available in all retail stores is Nov 13.

October 2020

We have some fun October events planned! We will be offering 2 virtual PTCGO tourneys, an in-person tournament at the Fantastic Store, and one or two prerelease events near the end of Oct or start of Nov. 

Virtual tournaments via PTCGO: Join us on Saturday, 10/10 and 10/24 for the Chantville Standard tournament using Pokemon Trading Card Game Online (PTCGO). As the name implies, we will use the Standard format for these tournaments, but can also offer Expanded if there is interest in the community. Check-in starts at Noon to 12:55 pm and the tournament will start at 1:00 pm. The entry fee is 1 virtual pack from any of the Sword & Shield sets.

July, August 2020

Chantville League virtual tournaments scheduled for August! Join us on Saturdays in August for the weekly Chantville Standard tournament using Pokemon Trading Card Game Online (PTCGO). As the name implies, we will use the Standard format for these tournaments, but can also offer Expanded if there is interest in the community. The next tournament is scheduled for Saturday, August 8. Check-in is from Noon to 12:55 pm and the tournament will start at 1:00 pm. The entry fee is 1 virtual pack from any of the Sword & Shield sets. You can sign up here.

Sword and Shield Darkness Ablaze Prerelease event at the Fantastic Store on Saturday, August 1! This event is limited to the first 10 people. Check-in is from 10:00 to 10:30 am and we will start the event promptly at 10:30. You can also buy the prerelease battle kit at the Fantastic Store starting Saturday, August 1, almost two weeks before the official release! 

Virtual League sessions are scheduled for July! Join us on Sat. July 11 and 18 for some League fun, earn some rewards and reconnect with our local Pokemon community. We are also working to have an online prerelease event for the next Sword and Shield set Darkness Ablaze. And I am working with local players to host some fun events like a real-life Gym Challenge and other fun tournaments using PTCGO.

June 2020

First online Pokemon League session set for June 27, from 2:00 - 2:40 pm. Join friends and fellow Pokemon fans online as we chat about ideas for online League, possibly a League Twitch channel for TCG games, and more!

Let's meet online! Chantville Pokemon League is now on Discord! We are starting with Discord first to provide a platform for the local community of Pokemon fans looking to reconnect and be able to socialize anytime, anywhere using the Discord app. Use our new Discord server to chat with the local Pokemon community, reach out to the League Organizer, coordinate games on PTCGO, and learn about special Pokemon promotions and deals at the Fantastic Store.

In fact, if you join our League Discord in June, you can learn about a special Pokemon discount that the Fantastic Store is offering. Again this promotion is good only for the month of June. So let chat online!

As we continue to explore the virtual options, we will look to host virtual League sessions and have other fun activities and contests. The Pokemon company through Organized Play is preparing to offer cool League promos and prizes for attendees to virtual League, so stay tuned as we learn more about this new program! Your health and safety are our utmost concern.  As of May 28, 2021, COVID-19 social distancing and capacity restrictions have ended in Virginia; unvaccinated people should still wear masks. We'll continue to monitor local health and official Pokemon guidance as we safely resume in-person League activities. We will continue to do our part to ensure a safe gathering space. For in-person events, masks are optional for the health and safety of young children and those that may not be vaccinated.

Saturday, 2/1 is our final Sword & Shield Prerelease! Join us for an exciting new card series with new powerful Pokemon with new game mechanics. A great time to jump into the game! February League Challenge is set for Sat 2/29! No pre-reg needed! Create your decklist here and check-in from 1:00-1:30 PM. We'll start the tournament by 1:45 PM.

January 2020

The next quarterly League Cup is set for Sat 1/11 run by the Tuskeys. Check-in opens at 10:00 AM. The Jan League Challenge is set for 1/18 with check-in opening at 1:00 PM, same time as the start of free league play. The Sword & Shield Prereleases are set for Sats 1/25 and 2/1. We are also continuing the new Pokemon Club program in our League which is designed for young children.
