Pokemon League is ON today, Sat. starting at 2 pm. This is the last League before Nationals, so come on by and do some playtesting!
We are in Fortree Gym season, so keep playing games and earning marks in your scorecards! I'll be arranging small 8-person tournaments throughout League. We'll start a new tournament every time we get 8 signups. And for those of you who are beginners, especially Juniors, I'll also be setting up smaller 4-person tournaments so you can get experience playing. These will be free and will be unlimited format (since I know kids only have a few cards from all kinds of sets). I'll see what kind of prizes I can dig up for the beginners.
We also have a new library-like loaning system. We have decks, dice, energies and playmats that you can borrow during League. Sign them out on the sign-out sheet and you can use during League. Just remember to return them before you leave! :-)
I'm also working on a group outing to Wolf Trap for the Pokemon Symphonic Evolutions on July 18. If we can get 20 or more people we can get 10% off tickets (for Orchestra seats of $35 or $45). Lawn seats are $25 with no discounts, but the group saves on service charges. I'll have a sign-up sheet at League. Deposit of $10 is needed to make a commitment. Check out details here.
The next pre-release will be held at the Fantastic Store on Sun, 8/9. Info and pre-reg will be on the League site in early July. But details and pre-reg for Nats is up! So check the page for info and links to the pre-reg site.
Here's a recent teaser release of the next set coming out in Japan this Sept... Can you identify the Pokemon on the poster?
Japan also is releasing a new Pikachu card in their new bento lunch boxes...
