Munster Juvenile U9-U11 Team Competition and U12-U13 Individual Track and Field

A sunny Saturday 11th, saw the first events taking place for Carraig at the brilliant athletics and amenity facility in Ennis, Co. Clare. We saw the best performances and nailbiting finishes from Carraig! Competition was tough but everyone was in winning form and ready to give their very best for their club. We were proud of all who attended and competed.

The constant rain on Sunday, 12th dampened the grounds but not the spirits of our athletes! Once again, parents and supporters were out in force cheering on the Club, and braving horrendous conditions for mid-June. However, it was worth it as it proved once again to be a highly successful day for our juvenile athletes. Our medal tally was impressive as usual and you should check out our photos page, to see just some of our successes. Due to the torrential rain on Sunday, it was very difficult to take more photos.

A huge congratulations to EVERY single athlete who attended this prestigious event, which turned out to be very successful on both a sporting and social level. Once again (!!) many thanks to our tireless parents, grandparents, friends and supporters for making this success possible for our Juveniles.

MUNSTER INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERY SINGLE BOY AND GIRL, FOR A FANTASTIC EFFORT!!

Day One, Saturday:

This saw the Girls (U 9 - U 13) events taking place at Nenagh Olympic Track, in Co. Tipperary. This was a very exciting day for the club, as we had never participated at these indoor championships before.

What an experience! The athletes had the experience of running on a curved track. This was the first time that athletes had run on a surface like this.

It was freezing cold in the arena! Thanks to all the parents who braved the conditions, (especially those without flasks!). We were so proud of the girls who competed in their events. The children were so well behaved, and did their absolute best. They did the Club proud as usual.

Day Two, Sunday:

The Boys (U9-U13) were in action today. Once again, everyone showed their potential. Again, these young lads had no experience of running on this track, but they did fantastic on the day.

In general, the Boys had a brilliant day of athletics and really enjoyed it. Parents got the chance to see the high standard of competion that comes to these events from all over Munster.

The Boys were, again, a credit to their parents and the Club were proud to be represented by them all.
