www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=14wj6vGQF8mEazBjEnKhW80NZVwA&usp=sharing - Zerg90 map of fire stations in the San Luis Obispo County - just 2 showing as of 4 Sept 2011 - more stations added Jan 22 2013 - more added May 2015 - looks pretty good now - need to see if Camp Roberts, Mens Colony, and University still have FDs - Cal Polytechnic FD was disbanded - SLO City Fd covers them now by contract - many county stations have 2 people on duty as a minimum - backed up by call firefighters - county stations in brush areas boost their staffing to 4 people in the summer - the nuclear plant has its own FD as does 1 oil farm near SLO Airport - Camp San Luis Obispo is covered by County Fd apparently (because the land is state owned (9/2015 - maybe is covered by CDF Camp Cuesta or CMC FD (Calif Mens Colony ?) - County Sta 12 is 5 miles away via 60 MPH highway - [the land at Camp Roberts is federally owned] ..... (fixed map link .... hopefully .... 6/3/2022]

-------------------------
May 2015 - listening to scanner feed - tone set - "Company 50 cover your station" - tone set - "Company ?63 cover your station" - this must be alerts for the paid call firefighters - "San Luis" might be the dispatcher - Engine 8192 and Rescue 8151 heard - "switch to Local 12" (which might by CalFire Local Tone 12 or some other channel)
May 2015 - West Cuesta Preplan 2015 - shows the following radio sites in the area - Mount Lowe has CDF Command 1 Tone 1 & CDF Command 2 Tone 1 - Cuesta Peak has County Net (SLC) & XSL Command 4 - Tassajera Peak has County Net (SLC) & XSL Command 4
Sept 5 2015 - just thinking out loud - county amb service could be merged into FD - all FDs could be merged, but just a few stations could be closed - CDF has 2 stations (Sta 30 & Parkhill) with 2 summer Engines - they could be split into individual stations - CDF took over Cambria FD mgmt in 2015 - there are 2 stations at Cambria that could be merged - County Station 12 could probably be closed freeing up 1 CDF summer Eng and 1 County Engine - maybe Station 35 could be a home for nearby vineyard workers in the winter instead of closing completely - some County stations could probably be upgrading to ALS - the 2012 county report pointed out that many stations are too weakly staffed to meet 2 in 2 out guidelines
