Rechartering Season

It is Rechartering Season - time to complete paperwork, make photocopies, and complete required training. With this in mind, please be mindful of our short-staffed group of volunteers (2) who process all of our membership applications, internal Troop documents, fees, and Outing Binders.

Please remember to follow instructions and adhere to time sensitive due dates. Failure to complete material correctly or meeting deadlines may result in delaying our Charter Renewal for our Entire Troop and/or individual membership removal from our 2017 Charter - this will result in having to re-apply with BSA, membership applications, etc. 

IMPORTANT DATES TO PROCESS MEMBERSHIP:

  

·Nov 9 - at Court of Honor Evening (before/after) at Elks Lodge

·Nov 16 at Troop Meeting 7:30p - 8:30p at Troop House 

·Nov 23 at Troop Meeting 7:30p - 8:30p at Troop House

·Nov 30 at Troop Meeting 7:30 - 8:30p at Troop House. Please note this will be the final collection date.

All paperwork must be processed completely, otherwise it will be returned which results in delays. Follow the links below to the forms.Here are some helpful hints when processing your forms:

 Master Check List:

Include this check list with your paperwork, print/sign it. Print this checklist now to guide you through the process.

o   All Material WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED if the Master Check List is missing.

Youth/Adult Application:

New or transfer members only.  Attention NEW MEMBERS:  Please remember to sign the inside form on Page 2 of Adult Application - this is almost always overlooked and results in delays!!!

  

Youth Protection Training (YPT):

  LA Area Council has adopted a NEW Policy - YPT is Required Annually.

o   Mandatory to Collect a YPT Certificate with Current Certificate of Completion - if your YPT Certification is not current - 2 months or less - complete a NEW YPT Certificate

o   If your Certificate is not submitted with your rechartering material - GREATER LA AREA Council and BSA National will not process your membership - creates delay or risk of removal from 2017 Charter

o   New to taking YPT - register on www.my.scouting.org

 (open a new account and create a profile - remember to align your membership to our GREATER LA AREA COUNCIL, PACIFICA DISTRICT, and TROOP 378

ONLY 1 COPY PLEASE

 Code of Conduct:

  ONLY 1 COPY PLEASE - Don't forget both Scout/Adult needs to sign

 Consent to Treat:

 DOUBLE-SIDED COPIES x 3 SETS - Don't forget both parents SIGN

Medical Insurance Cards:

3 Copies of Medical Insurance Card per person

 Medical A, B, and C Forms:

  DOUBLE-SIDED CORRELATED COPIES x 3 SETS per Scout and Adult (C Form may be turned in if current or during Mar-May prior to Summer Camp)

o   Staple All Sets

o   3-Hole Punched

Membership Fees: 

Scout - $120               Adult - $35  

Payment Made to:  Troop 378

        

 Troop Policy:  Suggested that BOTH Parents join as Members, however it is not Mandatory

Troop 378 Merit Badge Counselors/Board of Review Members -  Please process Forms and Membership Dues - Remember to turn in material during specified dates above - YPT Certificate is Mandatory!!!
