Boy Scout Troop 378 is sponsored by Gardena Nisei Memorial VFW Post 1961 and provides a program for youth ages 11 to 18 (or is at least 10 years old and has earned the Arrow of Light or completed the 5th Grade). The troop has been providing this program in the South Bay (Torrance, Palos Verdes, and Redondo Beach), since the early 1960s with our first scout earning the rank of Eagle Scout on March 11, 1964.

Our aim in Scouting is to foster good citizenship, to build character, and to help Scouts to develop physically, mentally, and morally. We strive to accomplish these goals through an outdoor program. The troop and each patrol are led by Scouts who are elected by their peers and are responsible for leading and training the troop and their patrol members.

You might be asking yourself why our troop logo isn't perfect and precise?  Well that's the way the scouts wanted it.  We truly believe our Troop should be run as “Boy Run - Boy Led” with an emphasis on developing Scout Leadership skills. It is important that the scouts actively participate in outings, events and meetings of the Troop. They should plan to take an active leadership role in their Troop.

We are a family oriented troop and need the help of at least one adult member of each family to provide this program. Troop meetings are held year round on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm in the meeting room at Walteria Park, 3855 242nd St  Torrance, CA 90505.

We hope to see you there!
