PT Puzzle from TPT, chocolate for the winner table, then everyone gather around and discuss, then everyone replicates it at their table. Then answer the questions on the paper. Then, read back don't complete yet, use highlighter to highlight important facts. Then ignore the back and just direct teach the following about the periodic table (have textbook version in front of students). Teach: atomic number, mass number, element name, element symbol, groups vs. periods, all the things groups have in common with one another, energy level = same as period number, ionic bonds vs covalent bonds. Have one student say a number, then, element name, etc...do this two or three times for all aspects listed above. Then, complete together at table, but no one at the table can have the same answer.
