I have always enjoyed cooking and have experimented with many different ingredients and cooking styles. My true passion is to find fresh, quality foods and to use them in the preparation of healthy, delicious dishes. My focus for working with healthier foods began after I joined a local gym. I became very good friends with one of the owners, who happened to be a natural bodybuilder. I started to prepare her pre-competition meals and that really taught me how much of an effect that a healthy diet could have on an individual's physique and overall health. I decided to go back to school and earned an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University and a Health Coach Certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I began working for Wholefoods Market and had the great fortune to hold the position of one of the very first Healthy Eating Specialists in the company for their new healthy eating program called “Health Starts Here”. When Wholefoods started their own in-store Wellness Clubs at five selected locations companywide I was promoted as the Vegan Chef for the Wellness Club, located in Dedham, Massachusetts. This was an extraordinary experience and I learned a great deal. I am currently enrolled in a Professional Plant-Based Cooking Certification Course with Rouxbe Cooking school and I am thoroughly enjoying the course .
