I regret to inform you that Area 12 Spring Games in Edwardsville has been cancelled for April 30th due to the Severe Weather Forecasts of Thunderstorms and already wet conditions. As always, the safety of the athletes, coaches, volunteers, spectators and staff is our top priority and the forecaster weather makes hosting this competition unsafe. The event will not be rescheduled.
Athletes will advance based on a random draw and will be notified shortly.
If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks!

Letter from Our Grand Knight
Click here to read some great information regarding the bond between the Knights and the Special Olympics. I wanted to pass this on to you to hopefully remind ourselves of the great gifts and opportunities that God provides for us. All of your first world problems you encounter each day don't amount to jack when you compare it to what other families have to deal with day to day. So when something goes awry, say a prayer and offer it up to God that you'll make it past your problem. I hope you take time to give this a read.
One other reason I wanted to share this is because the Special Olympic activities are this weekend. I hope that many of you replied back to Zach Carter by now. He had sent an email out on the 12th asking for help at these games (shown below). Not sure if it's too late or not, contact Zach to help out. Hope everyone has a safe weekend.

Volunteer Opportunity - Special Olympics Spring Games - Saturday April 30th 2016
The 2016 Special Olympics Area 12 Spring Games are just around the corner, April 30th 2016 at Korte Stadium, SIUe. In the past we’ve had a number of Knights and their families help volunteer this event. It’s these volunteers that make this special day possible for so many. I’ll be heading up this year’s tennis ball throw and it’d be great to see you guys and have your support and help again this year.
If you click on the link below it will take you to the volunteer sign-up page for the Area 12 spring games. When signing up I believe you can mark that you are volunteering with the Knights of Columbus. You will also be asked to pick an event during the sign up process, feel free to sign up for whatever areas you would like, but typically our group handles the tennis ball throw and softball toss so we are all together. Volunteers must be at least 10 years of age and have valid photo ID.
If anyone wants to sign-up, but has trouble doing so please let me know and I’ll see what I can do to help.
Thank you and God Bless!
