Reading is Cosmic at Jack's Cosmic Dogs

June 20, 2012.  Literacy is near and dear to Jack Hurley’s heart. The owner of Jack’s Cosmic Dogs, he and his wife are both avid readers and both work tirelessly as advocates of literacy....He encourages every parent to read to their children, as that is when the love of reading starts. "I know the importance of reading to kids every night," Hurley says.Toward that effort, Hurley and his restaurants have been supporters of Begin with Books since August of 2010. Begin with Books is the Charleston affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. This program is a pre-school literacy program that provides a free book every month by mail to any child from birth to age 5 in specific Charleston County zip codes.
