A wild and windy day at the New Zealand Memorial between Delville Wood and High Wood on the Somme, with the Wigan Branch DLOY minibus in the background. It might not seem much but when I was in New Zealand earlier this year I bought a poppy off an old soldier on Anzac Day. I promised him I would leave it a New Zealand memorial in France. Being a man of my word I duly obliged......This memorial is sited on ground fought over and captured by the Kiwis in the second phase of the Battle of the Somme...RIP
