Dear Friend:
This year, my name isn't on the ballot (so it will be really embarrassing if I lose), but I wanted to shoot a quick note about how important the upcoming election is.
Just imagine if Dan Onorato loses by one vote, and you didn't cast a ballot because you were too busy getting your back waxed—you'd feel terrible. Believe me, I know from experience.
I'm excited to see both Dan Onorato and Joe Sestak in dead heats in their races. I've known both Dan and Joe personally and politically for many years, and I can speak to each one's ability to deliver for our state and our country. 've known Tom Corbett and Pat Toomey for years as well, and I know that they will each work against any type of progressive legislation, attempting to remake the state and the country into the America that Sarah Palin dreams about when she closes her eyes at night.
In Montgomery and Delaware Counties there are two very close Congressional races. Both of our Democratic candidates, Bryan Lentz in the 7th District and Manan Trivedi in the 6th District, are great candidates whom I know well. They are both working hard, and will make terrific additions to the U.S. Congress. In a year where maintaining Democratic control of the House seems tenuous, and Tea Party candidates seem to be surging in polls around the country, we need to do everything we can to ensure that candidates like Bryan and Manan are elected.
Around the Southeast we have a lot of close State Senate races and real chances to turn Republican-held seats into Democratic seats. These races include Ruth Damsker in Montgomery County; Mike Farrell in Delaware County; and Cynthia Philo and Bryan Allen in Bucks County. I've been doing everything that I can to help all of these candidates win, and now they need your vote. The Republicans in the State Senate take pride in stopping any good legislation from getting through. These four candidates represent a chance to get rid of four Republicans who consistently hold our state back by holding back progressive legislation.
Thanks for all of your support, and I'll see you at the polls on Tuesday.
