Weekend summary

Friday

4pm arrival, 5 assholes, Small turn out due to Covid 19, just Mowbs, Cruiser, Boomer, Guy and Potsy

Cocktails, chips and salsa in the screen room.

Pizza for dinner. Card game ensued….Yanis….we renamed it your-anus.

Card game break after multiple wines, beers…..we broke at midnight, …..began cocktails. Rusty Nails for Mowbs and a boulevardier for GUY….. that was pretty much the end of anything coherent from Guy. 1am, another game begins. GUY “its your turn” . 2 am BBQ turned on for sausage, 3 am we remember to put the sausages on the BBQ, apparently they don’t cook themselves. 4:10 we all retire at the same time, thankfully, not together.

Saturday

We are aroused at 10 am, to the smell of coffee. Strata for brunch. Off in the vehicles into the country. A stop at the dump, where Leo hit on the dump attendant…..hmmmm…..imagine? Stopped at cidery for road trip ciders thrown into our trusty backpack. Hiked 20 minutes through the forest to “old Baldy” lookout over the Beaver valley. Sat on rocks and consumed cider. Drove back to AOTW HQ. Cooked and ate coconut/curry mussels for appy. Put the roast beast in the oven, and veggies , while Potsy made Yorkshire puddings. We played some more cards and shot the shit and never got around to eating till 10pm. Three pounds of roast beast EACH, washed down with a pie. Many wines consumed with civilized dinner….some good , some bad. Coffee, Drambuie, rusty nails, wine while card playing. 4 winners over the weekend, sans Guy. Pulled the shoot early this night, 2:20 am. A couple of good uncharacteristic late AOTW nights. Many many belly chuckles….well worth while to attend an AOTW.

Sunday

Slept in again, coffee and shit shooting in the am. Bruch of homemade egg mcmuffins. Excitement mounts as the hour draws near for the Zoom call at 1pm. Zoom attended in person Mowbs, Cruiser, Boomer, Potsy and Guy. Virtual asshole attendees…..Deano, Beaups, Frued, Daryl, Harps, and surprise guest appearance from Nairobi…..Rod….who has transformed over the years from Warren Beatty, Mickey Rourke….to now Keith Richards. Rod took some ribbing re Margot but came through with a few nice thoughts on the importance of maintaining long term friendships. In fact he has committed to attending AOTW 2021. Set for Sept 18, 2021. Rod please post or email Floyd , some of the better clitoris pictures you have been accumulating. Daryl definitely won the non-attendee speech competition, taking several lines from the Covidiot Trumpster. Floyd lobbies to make Mowbs AOTW president for life, at least that is what we garnered from his rambles. Daryl looked like he was having a stroke while being voted in as this years winner, but recovered enough to down the scotch……good on ya. Vote was close, a thin margin of victory by one swing vote. We signed off quickly and the boys fucked off home. Leo and Cruiser are staying over in Cwood with Mowbs tonight for a Monday round of golf. Potsy has taken home the AOTW trophy to present to Daryl, mainly cause he forgot to add anything from last year. Deano has the uncontested golf trophy.

Special provisions for Covid 19

We feel you should all take some time today, and work on an “AOTW asshole” Non - acceptance speech, where each of you will have 90 seconds or less, called in alphabetic order, On the Zoom call on Sunday afternoon. You all have 90 seconds to make your case, even though you are sequestered at home due to a microscopic bug, as to why you should NOT be voted as this years ASSHOLE. Good luck gentlemen, may the biggest asshole win.

BTW, we also had a chance to review AOTW bylaws, as we dragged them out of the AOTW library. It seems Mr McCallum was partially correct in his vague and clouded recollection of AOTW voting procedure. Indeed, you can NOT VOTE for the AOTW for the following year, if you are not in personal and physical attendance at the current AOTW festivities and trophy presentation, as each ballot must be written on officially torn bits of paper in the assholes own handwriting, and neatly folded into the voting hat. However, non attendance does NOT preclude you from being voted in as next years asshole. Therefore in essence, a quorum and official vote, can indeed take place if 100% of that years attendees are physically at the voting and presentation ceremony. Futhermore, for clarity, any asshole who is on the official email list, may be nominated and voted in as ASSHOLE.

AOTW 2020 is a go!

It will happen October 16,17,18

Paul has conveyed he has no issues with us using his Chalet, he has also said Grey County is one of the safest regions in relation to the pandemic. A low count of only 103 cases since March with zero deaths.

Unfortunately the boys south of the border ( where Trump is soon to be dethroned ) will not be joining us this year due to the pandemic. Our total count this year may be one of the smallest group gatherings in our history.

We will be staying at 161 Alta Rd in the Town Of The Blue Mountains. Friday eve will be the usual beer and sausages with an added extra of homemade Pizza by Mowbs, this will be enjoyed around the bon fire. Saturday and Sunday breakfast will be provided in house and the main dinner Saturday will also be a home cooked meal of roast beef Yorkshire pudding and all the fixings by Chef Mowbs and yours truly.

Saturday we will do a 2 km hike along the Bruce trail to the “Old Baldy Lookout” and we can stop by The Thornbury Cider House on the way home, due to the pandemic there are no tours no reservations and only the patio will be open seating capacity is approx 45 and being a week after Thanksgiving they should have lots of room.

Nine holes of golf on Sunday, they are only booking 14 days in advance so this will be scheduled at that time. A trip back to the chalet for the “virtual” golf trophy presentation via Scotty and our voting session for the new President or should I say Asshole!

If there are any special request for beer or wine let me know and I will try to accommodate you.

Everyone needs to confirm whether or not they will be attending. If anyone has concerns about the pandemic and wishes to abstain I fully understand.

Cost should be minimal, basically food and booze for the weekend I am thinking in the neighbourhood of 150-200 each depending on our number of attendees
