Memorial Lumley 6th Pit Pithead Baths - WW2

Memorial stone to the memory of Pte. Thomas Brown, 4456108, 8th Bn, DLI. The stone was originally located at Lumley 6th Pit Pithead baths but is now in the churchyard at Great Lumley. It was unveiled on 16th November, 1940 by Mr G. Renwick, manager of Lumley 6th Pit. Private Brown, son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Brown, of Fencehouses, was killed on 21st May 1940, aged 22. His grave location is Plot 5, Row F, Grave 4 of Habarcq Communal Cemetery Extension, Pas de Calais, France.
