Bournmoor: Old Maps
Here is a random, but chronological, selection of the many old maps of the area, starting with the oldest map I have found so far, 1754:

Above: 1768 map by Andrew Armstrong. This the earliest map I have found which shows the village of Wapping. Note the presence of a structure marked as "Burn Moors" at bottom-right of this map.
Despite this being the earliest map, I have found an earlier mention of Wapping in Parish Registers: Houghton-le-Spring baptisms, 31st March 1745: Mary Robson of Wapping, daughter of Charles Robson.
