Collieries: Deaths

This page is dedicated to the memory of the men who perished in our local collieries. The four collieries included here are: Lambton D Pit, Lumley Sixth Pit, Lady Ann Pit and Houghton Gate Pit. The Durham Mining Museum's (DMM) website is an invaluable resource but does not always give the name of the pit in which the fatality occurred - this is rectified here. This page is a work-in-progress and as such, the webmaster would like to hear from anyone with more names to include on the lists below. So far, the period covered is up to the 1940's. If you would like more information on any of the men below, please contact the webmaster via the email address on the Home Page of this website.
