New species of blue from genus Lysandra (Hemming 1933) in Ukraine.

Short diagnosis:

Distribution. The zone of distribution is between N48°55' E 25°02' and N48°38' E26°09' on canyon of the river Dnestr.

Description of imago. Size of butterfly like the Lysandra coridon Poda. Colour of upperside of wings of male is green - blue with mettalic brilliance. Female like the L. coridon.

Biology. Flies in June on low altitude in single brood.

Photo of type locality

Characteristic natural sites are meadow among spotted forest and bushes and steppe meadows. Frequently it has place with stony lime outputs area on slopes with S exposition. Butterflies visit flowers of different species of genus Lotus and Astragalus sp. sp.

Larva unknown. Larval food plants are probably from Astragalus sp., etc.
