Albury Park and Mansion 

In the late 18th century William Finch didn’t want any neighbours, so he demolished their cottages and rerouted the main road between Shalford and Shere.

Trevor Brook's talk - illustrated with more than 100 archive photographs - covers Albury Park and Mansion.  That includes a Saxon church, a papermill, rerouted roads,  a cleared village, an icehouse, Albury Conferences, Evelyn Gardens, Spanish nobility and deaths by gas explosion.
