Space program:

• • Orbital research complex, the Korolev Station, was put into commission.

• Tsiolkovsky-1 went on journey to Jupiter: the ship was leased by Australia, as part of the Australian Callisto colonization program.

• OTC/OQC action under the Russian management: orbit debris removal. Junk is picked up and Orbital Traffic is controlled.

Internal affairs:

• An ambitious long-term program of universal state-controlled education goes on as planned.

• Russia continued to relentlessly apply various methods of fighting corruption.

• Clean-up of the oil-eating bacteria outbreak was completed.

Foreign affairs:

• On request of China, Russian specialists continued construction of the Fast Neutron Reactors in China. A critical potential flaw was discovered necessitating costly retrofits and upgrades.

• France tried to drag Russia into a scandal over oil contracts with the third parties but was ignored.

2055-2059

Space program:

• The Tsiolkovsky-1 spacecraft was launched into orbit.

• A major upgrade of the Baikonur spaceport in cooperation with Australia was performed.

Internal affairs:

• Oil Eating Bacteria breakout:

  • An attempt to decrease environment degradation failed with a major mishap. Bacteria genetically engineered to consume and cleanup oil waste products during exploration, promoted as a high tech way of helping the environment, goes rouge and begins eating into things like lubricants for machinery etc. Containment efforts have succeeded, but at a cost to future development. A sudden breakout nearly happened, the infection was on the verge of uncontained spreading even further but was stopped by the heroic actions and sacrifices of Russian people. It was very close, the existence of Russia was at risk. More areas have had to be quarantined, the penalty to Oil Exploration next turn will be increased, but we can be reasonably certain that the threat is contained ...for now.

  • Massive Universal Education Program suffered a failure. Science seen to create monsters. The terrifying potential of the mutant bacteria threat has scared a lot of people. The heroic actions and sacrifices of Russian people, using their skills and technical knowledge to the fullest to come up with solutions was something that is remembered. The youth see the universe is dangerous, but with science it can be survived.

  • The Oil Prospecting failed with major mishap. Large, profitable areas for oil development have had to be quarantined and much equipment has had to be abandoned.

• Effort to decrease corruption by enhanced financial control was a limited success. You can count on crime to adapt.

• Attempt to increase stability by direct governmental subsidies was a limited success. Such a small investment can only mean only a minor improvement to the standard of living, but now people expect it.

• Attempt to decrease oil consumption by construction of Fast Neutron Reactors tested by China was a limited success. Some reactors were built and Oil SRU consumption was reduced but this is still an expensive, dangerous, and difficult technology.

• Northeast Passage development failed with minor mishap. More shipping accidents and more trash in the delicate Arctic ecosystem.

Foreign affairs:

• Attempt to increase Nigerian Stability failed. The cultural differences are just too great.

• Increase of Nigerian Oil Production was successful. The experienced Russian oil prospectors do their job.

• Fast Neutron Reactors project in China continued at moderate success. More reactors were built.

• Russia is a founding member in the establishment of the OTC/OQC.

2050-2054

Space program:

• Russia upgrades its "Lunastarr" Outpost to an Enclave and populates it with 5000 colonists. Construction of the Enclave proceeds to the great interest and fanfare by all of humanity as Russia is forever remembered for making Mankind’s first true home away from Earth.

• Orbital Traffic Control / Orbital Quarantine Command was established on Earth by a Russian initiative and in cooperation with multiple nations. Founding members were: Russia, Germany, Japan, and Australia.

• Swapping capacities in space with Brazil, China, Germany, Australia, Japan, Nordic Fed, and Nigeria, as well as using commercial space companies, Russia has arranged multiple large-scale uplift operations.

• Russia and Australia cooperatively constructed an Orbital Factory in Earth orbit.

Internal affairs:

• An ambitious long-term program of universal state-controlled education goes on as planned.

• Oil exploration was of limited success: the fields chosen yield some, but disappointing returns.

• Russia successfully decreases corruption by public involvement, at a cost to Authoritarian Score.

• Public health was successfully improved by the implementation of ecology improving technologies.

• Russia has successfully carried out additional large-scale industrialization, by importing high-tech robotic equipment and inviting in specialists from Japan.

Foreign affairs:

• Russia made a large-scale, long-term oil deal with the Netherlands to cover almost all of its oil demand for 25 years. Large-scale oil contracts also signed with Japan and Australia.

• Russia supports the poorest countries in the world by shipping oil there for free.

• Russia is exploiting the benefits of global climate change by investing heavily into the North-Eastern Passage through the Arctic, in cooperation with Nordic Federation, Japan and Canada. The enterprise was a success.

• On request of China, Russian specialists construct Fast Neutron Reactors in China with moderate success.

• The Russian base in Armenia is still being leased to NATO.

• Military actions in Armenia: France, Germany and Russia repelled onslaught of the rampaging Turkish units and forced them to withdraw in disorder back to Turkey. USA has engaged in heavy special forces assaults against the command of faction Militant Turkey but does not engage directly in combat. Turkey leaves NATO.

2045-2049

Space program:

• • Russia signed a long-term deal with most commercial space agencies and became a biggest operator of uplift capacity.

  • A unit with Orbital Re-entry ability was built.

  • A contract signed with the USA on large amount of uplift.

  • Russia is involved in the Brazilian and Nigerian space programs. Initial phase suffered a minor mishap with the Brazilian GPS satellite lost.

  • Glob Plan partners, by their combined efforts, constructed the Orbital Terminal “Île-de-France” for France.

Internal affairs:

• • An ambitious long-term program of universal state-controlled education was started.

  • A program to decrease corruption by public involvement was implemented with some success.

  • A war between Armenia and Turkey resulted in a direct confrontation between Russian and NATO forces. Russia suspends Armenian membership in ODKB due to multiple violations of the ODKB charter until the situation is resolved. Armenian forces were overrun by combined NATO attack; Russia blames NATO for multiple atrocities conducted by Turkish military in Armenia. Russia leases to NATO the 102nd military base but demands investigations by ICJ.

2040-2044

Space program:

• • Russia takes full control of Lunastarr O/T upon agreement with Globe partners.

  • Russia participates as shareholder in Asteroid Mining project arranged by Germany.

Internal affairs:

• • Increase of Stability Score by fighting radical terrorism is at great success.

  • Successful increase of population by better healthcare.

  • Catastrophic failure in attempt to reduce Government Corruption losses: corrupt government agents use heavy-handed laws to steal more and terrorize their rivals.

Foreign affairs:

• Russia takes over Syrian WMD in attempt to defuse situation in the Middle East.

• Massive security sweep through Arctic, working with USA, produced no results.

  • Russia keeps military actions against the Caliphate, along with Saudis and NATO.

  • Russia helps to Syrian government in war against Syrian rebels.

• Aid to South Korea in cleaning up environmental damage from WMD use.

2030-2034

Foreign affairs:

• • Russia helps to Syrian government in war against Syrian rebels.

  • Tensions among Azerbaijan and Armenia over Nagorno-Karabakh rise as Azerbaijan confronts Russia. Azerbaijan starts offensive to retake Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenian control. A combined Russo-Armenian offensive defeats Azerbaijan.

  • Russia keeps military actions against the Caliphate, along with Saudis and NATO.

  • Kazakhstan becomes client state.

  • The blockade of Iran from selling oil started in 2030 over the failure of Iran to pay reparations.

2025-2029

Foreign affairs:

• • Raising tensions in Kurdistan leads to a nearly full war with Turkey. NATO troops are sent as peacekeepers, but when Iran launches WMD attack on Kurds, most NATO troops (German, Polish, British and US, but not French ones) cross the border to defend the population. This causes strong conflict among NATO and Turkey. Russia, fearing growing Chinese influence in Iran, joins NATO and Saudi troops to stabilize the situation. After some clashes, Iran is defeated and Chinese troops retreat (after losing their carrier fleet).

  • A blunder by US troops destabilizes Iraq. The Caliphate revolts against Iraq and Syria. At UN mandate, Russia tries to move troops through Azerbaijan, but they are ambushed by Azerbaijani military and pressed back. Russian troops reach Kurdistan through Georgia, with German troops acting as mediators. This accident was casus belli for the following war: Russian-Azerbaijani war starts in 2028.

  • Revolt also affects Syria. Rumors are that WMD weapons are used by the Syrian government.

  • Russia sends troops to help Syrian government in war against Syrian rebels.

2020-2024

Space program:

• • “Crystal Palace”, the Orbital Terminal in orbit of Earth, is completed.

  • “Lunastarr”, the Orbital Terminal in orbit of Luna and Outpost (1N16), is completed.

  • Glob Plan begins construction of “Lunastarr”, an Orbital Terminal and Outpost in orbit of Luna.

Internal affairs:

• • Russia starts investing heavily into exploration of Arctic region.

  • Russia endures Multi Drug Resistant Tuberculosis epidemic.

Foreign affairs:

• Russia and China start “Amur River project” which included construction of farms and transportation network alongside of Russian border of Amur.

2015-2019

Space program:

• • Russia is a founding member of the Glob Plan partnership (including Russia, India, France, UK, Japan, Germany and, later, Indonesia).

  • Glob Plan began construction of the “Crystal Palace”, an Orbital Terminal in the orbit of Earth.

Foreign affairs:

• • Russia does not intervene openly in the Pakistani war.

• Russian-Chinese Natural Gas Pipeline is constructed.

2010-2014

Foreign affairs:

• Russia helps avoiding a nuclear exchange among Iran (that developed nukes) and Israel, confronting China and US plan that they thought too dangerous.

  • Russia becomes founding member of PROTO.
