The idea which I chose to work on for my personal project is Carl Jung’s Map of the Soul, which is a theory that came into existence due to the perspicacious Carl Jung’s thinking. The Map of the Soul is a psychological theory that suggests that the human mind consists of several archetypes, which are mental aspects inherited from ancestors, present in the collective unconscious. Our mind consists of four major archetypes; these archetypes are obsolete forms of innate human knowledge that are known to be imprinted in our minds from our ancestral histories. Much like how human beings inherit certain traits from our parents, Carl Jung’s theory suggests that the archetypes are universal instinctive patterns that are passed down from our ancestors.
Greetings, my name is Shivani Velaga, and I chose to explore Carl Jung’s Map of the Soul, as it piqued my interests. Growing up, I’ve always been inquisitive about what lays in my mind, and I have always been driven by the fact that I’m such a complex being, because I never understood how my mind functioned; I didn't know why I masked my emotions and altered them to fit in my surroundings when inside, oblivious to such a phenomena. As a result, for my product, I will be authoring a nonfiction novel that alludes to the Map of the Soul theory.
