Term 2 Mid-Term Tests SY 23/24:
Mid-Term Tests of Term 2 SY 23/24 will be conducted in Week 5 (Jan 14-18, 2024) and Week 6 (Jan 21-25, 2024). After the Winter Break (Dec 24-Jan 7, 2024), the students will have a Revision Week (Jan 8-11, 2024) and then the following shall apply:
English, Maths, Science, Social Studies, Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Qatar History subjects will be tested for all classes.
ICT and French subjects will be assessed based on projects prepared by the students (details will be shared later by the subject teachers).
Physical Education (PE), Global Perspectives (GP) and Skills & Design (S&D) will have continuous assessments based on classwork.
English and Arabic Tests will be divided over 2 testing blocks on different days to allow the students adequate time to cover the main areas of the subjects:
English: Listening, reading comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary will be done in paper 1 and creative writing and handwriting will be done in paper 2. Speaking, reading and spelling tests will be done as usual during regular English sessions.
Arabic: Listening, handwriting and dictation in paper 1 and reading comprehension, grammar and writing will be done in paper 2. Speaking, and reading will be done as usual during regular Arabic sessions.
Mid Term Tests Timings: Based on parents’ feedback and preference (as shown below), the Mid Term tests will be conducted after 7:30 AM moving forward.
During Week 5 and 6, regular teaching and learning will take place so students are required to have their books and notebooks whenever they come to school. Parents are required to make sure that their child/ children attend school (as per their schedules) and avoid scheduling any appointments during week 5 and 6. Students will be allowed to leave the school at the dismissal time (1:00 PM) and for emergencies only. Make up Tests will only be conducted if a sick leave is provided.
Mid Term Guidelines will be shared on ClassDojo and TEAMS on Wednesday 20/12/2023.
Mid-Term test schedules will be emailed to parents and posted on ClassDojo story of each class by Monday 8/1/2024.
اختبارات منتصف الفصل الدراسي الثاني 23/24:
سيتم إجراء اختبارات منتصف الفصل الدراسي الثاني للعام الدراسي 23/24 في الأسبوع الخامس (14-18 يناير 2024) والأسبوع السادس (21-25 يناير 2024). بعد عطلة الشتاء (24 ديسمبر - 7 يناير 2024)، سيكون لدى الطلاب أسبوع مراجعة (8 - 11 يناير 2024) ثم سيتم تطبيق ما يلي:
سيشمل الاختبار مواد اللغة الإنجليزية والرياضيات والعلوم والدراسات الاجتماعية واللغة العربية والتربية الإسلامية وتاريخ قطر لجميع الصفوف.
سيتم تقييم مادة تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات واللغة الفرنسية بناءً على المشاريع التي أعدها الطلاب (سيتم مشاركة التفاصيل لاحقًا من قبل معلمي المادة).
سيتم إجراء تقييمات مستمرة للتربية البدنية (PE) ومادة المنظورات العالمية (GP) والفن والتصميم (A&D) بناءً على الواجبات الدراسية والتقييمات المستمرة.
سيتم تقسيم اختبارات اللغة الإنجليزية والعربية على يومين من الاختبارات لكل مادة في أيام مختلفة لإتاحة الوقت الكافي للطلاب لتغطية المجالات الرئيسية للمواضيع:
اللغة الإنجليزية: سيتم إجراء اختبار الاستماع وفهم المقروء والقواعد والمفردات في الاختبار رقم 1 وسيتم إجراء اختبار الكتابة الإبداعية والخط في الاختبار رقم 2. وسيتم إجراء اختبارات التحدث والقراءة والتهجئة كالمعتاد خلال حصص اللغة الإنجليزية العادية.
اللغة العربية: سيتم إجراء الاستماع والخط والإملاء في الاختبار رقم 1 وفهم القراءة والقواعد والكتابة في الاختبار رقم 2. وسيتم إجراء اختبارات التحدث والقراءة كالمعتاد خلال حصص اللغة العربية العادية.
مواعيد اختبارات منتصف الفصل الدراسي: بناءً على ملاحظات أولياء الأمور وتفضيلاتهم (كما هو موضح أدناه)، سيتم إجراء اختبارات منتصف الفصل بعد الساعة 7:30 صباحًا.
خلال الأسبوعين الخامس والسادس، سيتم التدريس والتعلم بشكل منتظم، لذا على الطلاب إحضار كتبهم ودفاترهم عند حضورهم إلى المدرسة. يجب على أولياء الأمور التأكد من حضور أبنائهم إلى المدرسة (وفقًا لجداولهم) وتجنب جدولة أي مواعيد طبية اوغيرها خلال الأسبوعين الخامس والسادس. وسيُسمح للطلاب بمغادرة المدرسة في وقت المغادرة (1:00 ظهرًا) وفي حالات الطوارئ فقط. لن يتم إجراء الاختبارات التعويضية إلا في حالة توفير إجازة مرضية.
ستتم مشاركة إرشادات منتصف الفصل الدراسي على ClassDojo وTEAMS يوم الأربعاء 20/12/2023.
سيتم إرسال جداول اختبارات منتصف الفصل الدراسي عبر البريد الإلكتروني إلى أولياء الأمور ونشرها على قصة كل صف دراسي على موقع كلاسدوجو بحلول يوم الاثنين 8/1/2024

القيمة الأسبوعية: المحافظة على الماء (الماء سر الحياة)
يمكن تفعيل القيمة من خلال تنمية وتعزيز التصرف بوعي ومسؤولية ذاتية تجاه موارد البيئة وخاصة الماء، والتفكير في الآثار البيئية والاقتصادية لاستهلاك المياه، ويكون ذلك من خلال:
تعريف الأبناء بمعالجة الإسلام لقضايا البيئة مثل قضية المياه
أمر الإسلام بترشيد استخدام المياه.
خلال الإجازة يحسن بنا أن نستغلها في تنمية قدرات أبنائنا بتخصيص وقت محدد يوميًا لتنمية أي قصور لدى الطلاب مثل:
الاشتراك في دورات تدريبية تنمي قدراتهم
تخصيص كتب للقراءة يوميًا عبر منصة اقرأ بالعربية
زيارة المعالم الثقافية في قطر مثل كتارا، متحف الطفل، متحف الفن الإسلامي، ومتحف قطر الوطني، حديقة الخور، قلعة الزبارة، محمية الريم، ميناء الدوحة… الخ.

The value of the month can be activated by developing and enhancing conscious and self-responsible behavior towards environmental resources, especially water, and think about the environmental and economic impacts of water consumption, and this is done through:
Introducing children to Islam’s approach toward environmental issues, such as the water consumption
Islam commands rationalization of water use
During the vacation, it is beneficial to allocate a specific time on a daily basis to develop students’ weakness, such as:
Participate in training courses that develop their capabilities
Allocate books to read daily via the “I Read Arabic” platform
Visit cultural landmarks in Qatar such as Katara, the Children’s Museum, the Museum of Islamic Art, the National Museum of Qatar, Al Khor Park, Al Zubarah Fort, Al Reem Reserve, Doha Port...etc.

Plan Quality Time Together: Schedule specific times for family activities during the winter vacation. Whether it's a day trip, a game night, or a special meal together, having planned activities reinforces the importance of spending quality time as a family.
Tech-Free Time: Consider setting aside specific times when the family goes tech-free. This could be during meals, game nights, or designated hours in the evening. Disconnecting from screens can create a more focused and engaged environment.
Express Gratitude: Take time to express gratitude as a family. Reflect on the positive aspects of each day or share things you are thankful for. This fosters a positive atmosphere and encourages open communication.
Remember, the most important aspect of building a strong bond is to be authentic and show genuine love and care. Every family is unique, so tailor these tips to fit the dynamics and interests of your own family.
يعد بناء علاقة قوية مع أطفالك خلال عطلة الشتاء فرصة رائعة لخلق ذكريات دائمة وتعزيز الرابط العائلي فيما بينكم. اليكم بعض النصائح لتحقيق ذلك:
التخطيط لقضاء وقت ممتع معًا: حدد أوقاتًا محددة للأنشطة العائلية خلال عطلة الشتاء، سواء كانت رحلة أو تناول وجبة خاصة معًا، فإن التخطيط للأنشطة يعزز أهمية قضاء وقت ممتع كعائلة.
تخصيص وقت خالي من التكنولوجيا: فكر في تخصيص أوقات محددة من النهار تصبح العائلة فيها بلا أدوات التكنولوجيا. يمكن أن يكون ذلك أثناء التجمع على تناول الوجبات أو ليالي الألعاب أو ساعات محددة في المساء. يمكن أن يؤدي الانفصال عن الشاشات إلى خلق بيئة أكثر تركيزًا وتفاعلًا مع العائلة.

Common Winter Illnesses in Children (PART-1)
During Winter, it's normal to be anxious about your child's health. While most winter illnesses are not serious, it's helpful to know how to recognise them and what to do.
1. Colds,coughs and sniffles
Children catch up to 10 colds a year, so it's very likely that your child will experience at least one this winter.
Management: Give paracetamol for symptom relief, and plenty of fluids. Colds are caused by viruses, so antibiotics have no effect.
2. Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)
It is a common virus which infects the lower respiratory tract. It causes only mild cold symptoms.
Management: For some children, the RSV virus will turn into bronchiolitis therefore you should start the treatment on time
3. Flu
Flu is most infectious when symptoms first start, and remains infectious for up to a week.
Management: To relieve symptoms ,use the same relief as for colds.
أمراض الشتاء الشائعة عند الأطفال (الجزء الأول)
خلال فصل الشتاء، من الطبيعي أن تشعر بالقلق بشأن صحة طفلك. في حين أن معظم أمراض الشتاء لدى الأطفال ليست خطيرة، فمن المفيد معرفة كيفية علاجها وما يجب القيام به.
1. نزلات البرد والسعال والاستنشاق
يصاب الأطفال بالعديد من نزلات برد سنويًا، لذا فمن المحتمل أن يصاب طفلك بنزلة برد واحدة على الأقل خلال فصل الشتاء.
كيفية التعامل معه: إعطاء الباراسيتامول لتخفيف الأعراض، والإكثار من السوائل. نزلات البرد تسببها الفيروسات، لذلك ليس للمضادات الحيوية أي تأثير عليها.
2. الفيروس المخلوي التنفسي (RSV)
وهو فيروس شائع يصيب الجهاز التنفسي السفلي. يسبب أعراض البرد الخفيفة فقط.
كيفية التعامل معه: عند بعض الأطفال، يتحول فيروس RSV إلى التهاب القصيبات لذلك يجب بدء العلاج في الوقت المحدد.
3. الأنفلونزا
تكون الأنفلونزا أكثر عدوى عندما تبدأ الأعراض لأول مرة، وتظل معدية لمدة تصل إلى أسبوع.
كيفية التعامل معها: لتخفيف الأعراض، ينصح باستخدام نفس وسائل الراحة المتبعة في نزلات البرد
