Dear SIS Family,

We are looking forward to seeing all parents at school on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the parent/teacher conferences from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Teachers are going to be located as below:

Subject teachers in their homeroom classes (Ground & First floor)
Arabic department teachers in the basement floor (Gym)
ICT teacher in the basement floor (ICT Lab)
Art Teacher in the basement floor (Art Room)

Admin members are going to be available to help and assist you locate the teachers and you may refer to the location map as well: School Map for PTC1 -V.1 SY 23-24

تحية طيبة وبعد،،

نحن نتطلع إلى رؤيتكم جميعاً بالمدرسة في يوم السبت 14 أكتوبر 2023 في اجتماع أولياء الأمور والمعلمين من الساعة 8:30 صباحًا حتى 11:30 صباحًا. حيث تم تحديد أماكن تواجد المعلمين على النحو التالي:

مُعلمو المواد الإنجليزية الأساسية في فصولهم الدراسية (الطابق الأرضي والأول)
مُعلمو المواد العربية في الطابق السفلي (قاعة التربية الرياضية)
مُعلمة تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات في الطابق السفلي (مختبر تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات)
مُعلمة الفنون في الطابق السفلي (مشغل الفنون)

Reminder:

Parents-Teachers Meeting (PTC)-T1 SY 23/24: The First PTC of SY 23/24 is scheduled on Saturday 14/10/2023 as follows:

On Saturday 14/10/2023: Parents will be able to meet with their child’s teachers to discuss academic performance and behaviour. Parents will be allowed a maximum of 5 minutes with individual teachers to allow a maximum number of meetings. Meetings will start from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. (first come-first serve basis). The last meeting will be at 11:20 am.
Week 8 (15-18/10/2023) Virtual Meetings: We are very keen to establish Parents/Teachers communications therefore we are arranging for Virtual Meetings to accommodate parents who were not able to attend the Saturday PTC. Virtual Meetings can be conducted on Sunday, Tuesday of week 8 (Oct 15-18/10/2023) from 1:20 pm to 2:00 pm. Parents need to coordinate with the teachers to schedule an online meeting. Meetings will be conducted using TEAMS.

MidTerm Test Papers of T1 SY 23/24:

Students will take home their Mid Term Test papers to view the test patterns during week 8 (Oct 15-18). For any clarifications regarding the questions/answers of the Mid term tests, parents are requested to contact the subject teachers through ClassDojo/TEAMS (during school hours).

اجتماعات أولياء الأمور والمعلمين للفصل الدراسي الأول للعام الأكاديمي 23/24:

اجتماعات أولياء الأمور والمعلمين الفردية للفصل الدراسي الأول للعام 23/24 ستكون كالتالي:

يوم السبت الموافق 14 أكتوبر 2023: سيتمكن أولياء الأمور من مقابلة المعلمين لمناقشة أداء الطلاب ومستوى تقدمهم من الناحية الأكاديمية والسلوكية. وستكون مدة الاجتماع الفردي خمس دقائق (كحد أقصى) لكل ولي أمر وذلك لتسهيل عقد أكبر عدد من الاجتماعات. ستبدأ الاجتماعات من الساعة الثامنة والنصف إلى الساعة الحادية عشرة والنصف صباحًا وستكون بحسب الاسبقية.

اجتماعات الأسبوع الثامن الافتراضية ( 15-18 / 10 /2023 ): حرصا منا على دعم التواصل بين المعلمين وأولياء الأمور سيتم تخصيص أيام الأحد والثلاثاء من الأسبوع الثامن (من الساعة 1:20 الى 2:00) وذلك لأولياء الأمور الذين لم يتمكنوا من حضور اجتماعات يوم السبت (14/10/2023) يرجى من يرغبون في حضور الاجتماع التواصل مع المعلم/المعلمة لتحديد موعد اجتماع افتراضي (عبر الإنترنت). ستكون الاجتماعات عبر الإنترنت بإستخدام برنامج التيمز.

سوف يتم إرسال أوراق اختبارات منتصف الفصل الدراسي الأول في الأسبوع الثامن ليتسنى لولي الأمر الاطلاع على نمط الأسئلة وكيفية التعامل معها. للحصول على أي توضيحات بخصوص أسئلة / إجابات اختبارات منتصف الفصل الدراسي الأول، يرجى من أولياء الأمور الاتصال بمعلم المادة من خلال التيمز والكلاس دوجو (خلال ساعات العمل المدرسية).

ثانيًا: برنامج (أنا أقرأ بالعربية)

تعريف: برنامج متكامل يهدف إلى تقوية اللّغة العربيّة وتطوير مهارات (القراءة والكتابة والمحادثة والاستماع) لدى المستخدم من خلال توفير محتوى متكامل يتماشى والمناهج الدّراسيّة.
دور ولي الأمر: متابعة الأبناء في الواجبات التي يسندها المعلمات لهم بتخصيص وقت يومي للقراءة وحل الواجبات المطلوبة، وتشجيع الأبناء على التقدم في القراءة.

Second: (I Read Arabic) Program

Definition: An integrated program that aims to strengthen the Arabic language and develop the user’s skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) by providing integrated content that is consistent with the academic curricula.
Parents Role: follow up on the children’s assignments and allocate daily time for reading, and encourage the children to progress in reading.

International Day - October 19, 2023

International Attire

We invite all students to come to school on International Day dressed in their traditional or national attire. This is a wonderful opportunity for each student to proudly represent their country and share its rich heritage with their peers. We believe that by doing so, we can foster a deeper appreciation for the global tapestry of cultures that enriches our learning environment.

Booth Decoration

This year, each class will be assigned a specific continent to explore and present. We believe this hands-on experience will provide our students with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the diverse cultures around the world.

If your child's class is assigned a continent different from your origin, we still encourage you to participate by bringing in items that represent the continent or its countries. Your contributions will enrich the learning experience for all students.

Furthermore, we welcome parents to join us on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm to decorate and add the final touches to the booth in preparation for the event on Thursday. This collaborative effort will help create an immersive and engaging environment for our students and guests.

Parent Involvement

We are looking forward to having parents getting involved in the the international day as below:

Sending informative clips about the students’ country for students to watch during homeroom to the communication@sis-qatar.com (Starting from Thursday October 12, 2023)
Assist in placing the final decorative touches on the different booths at school on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 between 11:00 AM and 12:30 AM In preparation for the event of Thursday
Send cultural items to decorate the booth with the students (kindly label the items with the student name & section)
Visit the international booths displayed in the MPR & Canteen and enjoy the wide range of cultures well represented by the students from 11:30 PM to 12:30 PM on Thursday, October 19, 2023.

الاحتفال باليوم العالمي - للعام الأكاديمي 23/24

يعد الاحتفال باليوم الدولي في مدرسة ستب ون الدولية حدثًا يهدف إلى تعزيز التنوع الثقافي والتفاهم والتقدير بين الطلاب وأولياء الأمور والمجتمع المدرسي ككل. خلال هذا الحدث، تتاح للطلاب عادةً فرصة التعرف على البلدان المختلفة وتقاليدها ولغتها وأطعمتها، عاداتها وتقاليدها.

الملابس التقليدية

ندعو جميع الطلاب للحضور إلى المدرسة في اليوم العالمي وهم يرتدون ملابسهم التقليدية أو الوطنية التي تمثل بلدهم. فهذه فرصة رائعة لكل طالب لتمثيل بلده بفخر ومشاركة تراثه الغني مع زملائه الطلاب. ونحن نؤمن أنه من خلال هذه الفعالية، يمكننا تعزيز تقدير أعمق للنسيج الثقافي العالمي الذي يثري بيئة التعلم لدينا.

تزيين ركن كل قارة

هذا العام، تم تخصيص قارة معينة لكل فصل وسيكون مسؤول عنها مجموعة من الطلاب لاسكتشافها والتعبير عنها. نعتقد أن هذه التجربة العملية الشيقة ستوفر لطلابنا فهمًا وتقديرًا أعمق للثقافات المتنوعة حول العالم.

إذا تم تخصيص قارة مختلفة لقارة طفلكم الأصلية، فإننا نشجعكم على المشاركة من خلال إحضار العناصر التي تمثل القارة أو بلدانها أيضاً في حال توفرها لديكم. ستثري مساهماتكم تجربة التعلم لجميع الطلاب.

علاوة على ذلك، نرحب بانضمامكم إلينا في يوم الأربعاء 18 أكتوبر 2023 من الساعة 11:00 صباحًا حتى 12:30 ظهرًا لتزيين الجناح الخاص بكل قارة وإضافة اللمسات الأخيرة عليه استعدادًا لفعالية اليوم الدولي في يوم الخميس. سيساعد هذا الجهد التعاوني بيننا وبينكم في خلق بيئة غامرة وجذابة لطلابنا وضيوفنا.

المساعدة في وضع اللمسات النهائية على الأجنحة المختلفة الخاصة بالقارات يوم الأربعاء 18 أكتوبر 2023 بين الساعة 11:00 و12:30 استعداداً لفعالية اليوم الدولي في يوم الخميس
إرسال مواد ثقافية تعبر عن بلد طفلك لتزيين الجناح مع الطلاب (يرجى وضع اسم الطالب عليها)
القيام بزيارة الأجنحة المعروضة في القاعة المخصصة والاستمتاع بمجموعة واسعة من الثقافات التي يمثلها الطلاب من الساعة 11:30 إلى 12:30 ظهرًا يوم الخميس 19 أكتوبر 2023.

Common Cold in Children (Part-1)

The common cold or (upper respiratory infection) is one of the most common illnesses in children. Each year it leads to more healthcare provider visits and missed days from school and work than other illnesses.

Most children will have at least 6 to 8 colds a year. Children are more likely to have colds during fall and winter.

Causes

Through the air
By direct contact

Which children are at risk for the common cold?

All children are at risk for the common cold. They are more likely than adults to get a cold.

Less resistance (Low immune system)
Winter season
Hand to mouth contact

Symptoms

Stuffy/Runny nose
Scratchy/tickly throat
Watery eyes
Sneezing
Congestion
Sore throat
Headaches
Low grade fever
Chills
Watery discharge from the nose that thickens and turns yellow or green
Extreme tiredness

نزلات البرد عند الأطفال - الجزء الأول

تعد نزلات البرد أو (عدوى الجهاز التنفسي العلوي) من أكثر الأمراض شيوعًا بين الأطفال. وتؤدي كل عام إلى ارتفاع عدد زيارات الرعاية الصحية وتغيب أيام عن المدرسة.

يصاب معظم الأطفال بنزلات البرد على الأقل من 6 إلى 8 مرات في السنة. ويكون الأطفال هم الأكثر عرضة للإصابة بنزلات البرد خلال فصلي الخريف والشتاء.

أسباب انتقال العدوى:
