The Environmental Club is collecting cardboard to use in its gardens.

Please contact Mr.McKee at rmckee@sienacatholicschools.org if you have large cardboard boxes that you would like to donate.

Donate A Tree

The Environmental Club is asking members of the St. Catherine's Community to consider sponsoring the planting of a native tree or shrub. The Environmental Club hopes to plant 13 native trees and shrubs on the St. Catherine’s campus in May.

The trees and shrubs range in price from $6.40 to $24. A tree/shrub can be donated as a gift to the school, as an honor to a living individual, and/or as a memorial to someone who has passed.

A 3D printer will be used to make a sign showing who donated the plant or to whom the plant is dedicated.

Questions: Please contact Mr.McKee rmckee@sienacatholicschools.org

Dominican Youth Conference

The Dominican Youth Movement USA (DYMUSA) is a nationwide non-profit organization connecting youth/young adults to the Dominican Order’s tradition of preaching with their own call to preach. In 2015 DYMUSA brought together five different programs engaging young people of high school age through their young adult years – unifying their support and promoting their collective social impact.

The theme of the conference has remained the same: each of us is called to preach the Gospel in our own unique way.  During the six-day conference, Dominicans (members of the Order of Preachers) highlight the charism of preaching as it has been practiced from the earliest days of the Order to the present. Participants meet many Dominicans who preach the Gospel in a variety of settings. Participants also have the opportunity to visit service sites where they can “put their preaching into action.”

Each day begins and ends with a prayer/ritual prepared by the participants with the assistance of Dominican liturgists. At the closing Eucharistic celebration, school teams share ways that they can take the message of the conference back to their school communities.

At the end of the conference, students are challenged with the creation of an action plan for the upcoming school year. This plan is the vehicle for sharing what they have learned at the conference to their college campuses. With the Dominican Charism firmly planted in mind, body, and spirit – the “Holy Preaching” continues!

Overnight conference out of state with Mrs. Dahlgren. Would love to bring 4 students with me to Michigan where we will be having a retreat with other high school students from around the world. This is only for high schools who follow the Dominican way as we do. Email Mrs. Dahlgren if you are interested in coming. Note there is a cost of $475 for the week.
