Stuff The Bus
Once again, as part of Catholic Schools Week, Siena Catholic Schools will collect non-perishable items for the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Racine. Please check out the list and bring items to campus ministry by February 4. Thank you all!
Juniors: ACT Prep Class
The next ACT Prep class will be starting soon. If you want a chance to improve your ACT score this is the class for you. The class starts Thursday, January 26 and runs every Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. until March 2. We will then have a full practice test on Saturday, March 4 from 8-11:30 a.m. The classes are at the high school in room 103. If you are interested in signing up for the class please see your guidance counselor or call Leann Pomeroy at 262-498-4113. For more information please visit www.WisconsinTestPrep.com. Cost of the course for St. Catherine students is a $25 deposit, that will be refunded to students that attend all test prep sessions.
Yearbook, Senior Pics
Now is the time to plan for senior pictures, if you have not already done so! Traditionally, these photos are taken early in senior year, so that by January 15, everyone has chosen proofs and your final selection has been submitted to the yearbook. For our yearbook, one color wallet-size print or digital file (approx. 2” wide x 3” high or larger) is needed by JANUARY 15, 2023. Your photographer should send these to dmielcarek@sienacatholicschools.org, or you can bring the photo in yourself. OR… You (or the photographer) also may submit a digital picture on a flash drive, or email it (as an attachment). Make sure digital pictures are high-resolution, at least 300 dpi.
Latino Scholarships
In an effort to promote educational opportunities to Latino youth in Racine County, Por La Gente Association has established multiple Latino Scholarships to be awarded to local high school students. To qualify, applicants must: (1) be of Latino descent; (2) be a Racine County resident; (3) be in their final year of high school; and (4) scheduled to attend a post-secondary institution on a full-time basis beginning the ensuing fall semester. This scholarship award is open to all Latinx students, including undocumented.
This scholarship is based on (1) academic achievement and/or (2) athletic achievement and/or (3) community involvement. Applicants should demonstrate exceptional academic and/or athletic ability and/or participation in service to their community. FINANCIAL NEED AND ECONOMIC BACKGROUND MAY ALSO BE CONSIDERED IN THE SELECTION OF THIS SCHOLARSHIP.
FREE Breakfast/Lunch: What You Need To Know About Getting Reimbursed
Starting this school year, SCHS will be participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. This means that all of our students will be able to receive free, nutritious meals every school day.
Under CEP, SCHS will receive reimbursement from the federal government for providing free meals to all students. This will allow us to simplify meal service and reduce administrative burden, as we will no longer need to collect household applications for free and reduced-price meals.
Deposited funds may be refunded or donated since eligible meals are now covered by CEP. To request a refund, please complete the form by clicking HERE.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or would like more information. We are committed to providing all of our students with the support they need to succeed in school, and we believe that access to healthy meals is an important part of that support.
