Dear SCHS Community,
We have entered the holiest week of the year and there are many opportunities for prayer at all the parishes this week. Please see the schedules below.
Spring Break begins Friday and classes will resume on Monday, April 13th. There will not be a newsletter next week.
I wish you all a restful and enjoyable Easter. I hope you enjoy amazing family time and stay safe.
Blessings,
Mrs. Schumacher
Please see below notes that were sent home this week:
Dear SCHS Community,
It is with mixed emotions that I share my decision to resign as the principal of St. Catherine’s High School at the end of the school year. I am grateful for having the opportunity to serve in this school community for the past 2 years and in Racine for 13 years. I have made the difficult decision to prioritize a healthier work/life balance and will be moving onto a new adventure.
I am sharing this news now to ensure the leadership team has adequate time to conduct a thorough search for the next principal and to guarantee a smooth transition for our students.
I feel truly blessed to have been part of such a dedicated and supportive environment. This community is more than a school system; it is a family. What I will carry with me most are the personal relationships we have built together. I am forever grateful for the partnership, trust, and countless memories that have shaped my life over the last 13 years.
I look forward to supporting our school through the remainder of the year and watching this community continue to flourish for years to come.
Blessings,
Mrs. Schumacher
Dear St. Catherine's High School families,
Gloria Schumacher has shared her decision to resign as principal of St. Catherine’s High School, effective June 30, 2026. She will continue to lead the school community through the end of the academic year, June 30, 2026.
I want to acknowledge Gloria’s 13 years of contributions to Siena Catholic Schools. Her leadership and dedication have been instrumental to our students and our community. We are deeply grateful for the faith and hard work Gloria has invested in our students and community. Please join me in thanking her for the care she has shown to so many and in wishing her success in all her future endeavors.
On behalf of Siena’s leadership team, I assure you that we will actively work to find a leader who will continue to uphold the high standards and traditions that have defined St. Catherine’s High School for over 160 years. Our priority remains ensuring every student succeeds in a strong, academically rigorous, Christ-centered community rooted in our Catholic identity. In addition, we remain steadfast in our commitment to an environment for our students and staff that is firmly rooted in the Dominican values upon which St. Catherine’s was founded.

Key Reminders
To ensure school security and accurate attendance, please follow these protocols:
Before 7:15 AM: All students must enter through Door 2.
At 7:15 AM: Door 2 is locked. Students arriving at or after this time must report to Door 1.
Late Arrivals: Students entering through Door 1 must immediately check into the kiosk for a tardy slip.
Timing: Door 1 does not open until 7:15 AM. Since class begins promptly at 7:15 AM, arriving at the door at that time results in a tardy.
We have noted a high volume of students arriving late with outside food and drinks.
Federal Hot Lunch Program: Due to our participation in the Free Federal Hot Lunch Program, fast food (McDonald’s, etc.) is not permitted to be eaten for breakfast or lunch on campus.
Beverage Policy (Page 41): Per the student handbook, beverages in the building are limited to water only.
Student Sales Prohibited (Page 53): Please be advised that per school policy, students are not permitted to sell outside food or beverage items in school.
Classroom Disruption: Late arrivals with outside food are causing significant disruptions to the learning environment.
With the school year progressing, it is vital that students remain diligent. It is the responsibility of every student to navigate the halls promptly. Please avoid lingering for social hangouts or unnecessary errands between periods; students should be in their seats when the bell rings.
Students are expected to be in full dress code daily as we represent our school community:
Outermost Layer: The visible layer must feature the SC or Dominican shield. Only school-issued Letterman jackets are permitted; no other jackets are allowed.
Leggings & Footwear: Leggings are never acceptable. For safety and professional standards, flip-flops are never permitted on campus.
Tuesdays: Polos must be worn every Tuesday.
We remain committed to our phone-free environment.
Daily Requirement: Phones must be locked in Yondr pouches every day. Even if a phone is left at home, students must still bring their Yondr pouch to school.
Replacements: Lost pouches must be replaced immediately. Replacements are available in the office for $30.
To ensure all students are accounted for and supervised, we are strictly enforcing the following:
Inter-Classroom Travel: Students may only go to another classroom if they already possess a pass from the receiving teacher.
Standard Passes: Restroom passes are for the nearest available restroom only.
Restriction of Privileges: A pass is not permission to wander or visit friends. Students who abuse this system will have their pass privileges restricted.
Failure to meet these expectations will result in immediate consequences. We appreciate the continued partnership of our parents and the accountability of our students as we head into a busy and exciting spring season.
