Hello Angels Community,
Last call for the Dress Down Pass Fundraiser. See details below.
Count Day is coming!
Friday, September 19th is COUNT Day. This is an important day for a multitude of reasons. We would like to see 100% attendance. There is a dress down theme determined by Student Council... Hawaiian Day. In addition, all students will get a "treat". Lastly, the class with the highest % in attendance will get "cell phone time".
(Hawaiian theme: flower shirts, bright colors, sunglasses, sun hats, lei necklaces. NO Swimming suits. No sandals. Must be school appropriate.)
SCHS is extremely proud of how well we do with all our sports teams. We welcome all families, alumni and community to come and cheer on our Angels. The students appreciate the support and feed off of the high energy of the crowd. Our parents and guests in the stands are also a reflection of our athletic teams and our school. Parents and guests also serve as role models for our student behavior. Please stand and remove your hat for the national anthem. Please do not litter or leave garbage in the stands. Please cheer loudly for our teams and players but refrain from yelling at the referees or using foul language. We strive to instill good sportsmanship in our students and need your help in reinforcing positive school spirit during the games, regardless of the outcome.
Students must have their ID's for entry to games. This week Friday our football game is televised so let's show our amazing, positive school spirit.
Go Angels!
Blessings,
Mrs. Schumacher
Assistant Principal Notes
Hey Angel Nation!
Just a couple of quick reminders this week!
-Please make sure you adhere to the dress code! Remember, your outermost layer needs to be St. Catherine's attire. Your non-St. Cat's hoodies need to be stored in your locker, not worn in the school. Please make sure that you are wearing black or khaki dress pants, not denim, joggers, cargos, or sweatpants. Your hair cannot be an unnatural color, and it must be changed to one of the natural colors in the handbook: black, blonde, brown, mahogany, white, and natural red (p.32).
-Homecoming is approaching quickly! Attendance Eligibility: Students must be in good standing regarding attendance, academics, and behavior to be eligible to attend Homecoming and Prom, or to participate in the Homecoming and Prom courts (p.45). Please make sure that you are making the right choices so that when it comes time for Homecoming, you don't miss out!
-Angels, when you arrive in the morning and enter through door 2, please make sure your Yondr pouch is visible for us to see, so that we know you are following our phone policy! If you don't have a phone, please make sure to sign your name with Mrs. MacDougall or Mrs. Knoell. If you have no Yondr pouch, you can sign your name on a post it note, attach it to your phone, and leave your phone in the Yondr bucket. I strongly advise picking up a Yondr pouch so that you are in compliance with our policy. You can purchase a new pouch for $30 in the main office.
Let's make this a fantastic year!

Out of Uniform Passes
The Out of Uniform Pass Fundraiser allows families to purchase passes for each of their children to dress down (out of uniform). Families with multiple children will need to purchase a pass for every child. However, every child after the first will receive a discount. See below for the pricing structure.
Each Out of Uniform Pass gives your child the ability to dress down on two designated Mondays during each month of school. The passes are non-transferrable and only valid for the child they were purchased for. There are no exceptions. Teachers will have a list of students that have purchased passes to verify.
Please note: we will continue to offer spirit days along with other opportunities to attend school out of uniform. These days are offered throughout the year and are organized by the staff and principal. Students in inappropriate clothing will be asked to change or call home.

Dress Code
Reminder regarding our school's dress code policy, specifically concerning pants. Our policy, which has been in place since June and shared with the school community weekly with pictures of acceptable pants, requires students to wear black or khaki dress pants only.
We have received questions about what is considered acceptable. To clarify, pants with extra pockets, such as cargo pants, and pants with elastic cuffs, such as joggers, are not considered dress pants and are not permitted. This policy is in place for two main reasons: to ensure a safe and consistent learning environment for all students and to maintain a professional atmosphere within our school.
We understand there may have been some confusion, and we apologize for any misunderstanding this has caused. Our policy lists specifically what is ALLOWED. To give everyone time to comply, we will allow students to wear their current pants until next Wednesday, September 10. After this date, all students will be expected to wear only dress pants.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us maintain a safe and consistent school environment.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Schumacher

Counselor Notes
The counseling department encompasses many responsibilities.
We work with students to ensure they successfully complete their graduation credits. We meet with all grade levels to discuss important issues like citizenship, the importance of doing well in school, and career and college discussions through Xello.
Students can also book appointments to meet with us to discuss personal or academic struggles.
Soon, we will begin scheduling college rep visits to St. Catherine's, where students will have an opportunity to gather information about colleges throughout Wisconsin and surrounding states.
Ms. Knoell is responsible for students with last names starting with A-K.
Mrs. MacDougall is responsible for students with last names starting with L-Z.
Class of 2026 is slightly different with the split being Knoell A-L, MacDougall M-Z
We do work as a team, so if your counselor is not available, you can always reach out to the other counselor for assistance.
In the coming weeks, we will be putting out reminders to seniors about college application deadlines as well as the opening of the 2026-27 FAFSA form.
We are looking forward to supporting the students and families at St. Catherine's!
Mrs. MacDougall and Ms. Knoell
Office Reminders
Appointments and Early Dismissals:
Tuesday's are mass days. We can NOT release students easily from mass. It not only disrupts the students but also those performing the mass ceremony. Please be mindful of that when scheduling. Although we understand it is difficult to schedule some appointments, it is best to try to schedule after school.
Early Release and Work Study students are expected to attend mass on Tuesday's. These students have a designated meeting location and are to remain there with their teacher/counselor and attend mass.
Medication distribution
Parent/Guardian permission is required by the Archdiocese and State of Wisconsin to administer medicine to a student.
It is for the safety of our students that we have this policy in place. You may print the attached form or pick up at the main office.
Two Types:
Prescription: this must be filled out by the parent/guardian and the students physician
Over-the-Counter: this must be filled out by the parent/guardian
Without consent of the parent/guardian we cannot administer any medication
Department of the Week! -
Learning Commons w/Mrs. Hilliard
The Learning Commons is an invaluable resource for students, offering a dynamic environment where academic growth and peer collaboration flourish. This space is designed to provide comprehensive academic support through various services, including tutoring, study sessions, and access to online courses, ensuring students have the tools they need to succeed.
Open throughout the school day, the Learning Commons encourages students to engage in self-directed learning while also benefiting from the support of Mrs. Hilliard, Mr. Rideaux, and peers. This collaborative atmosphere not only helps students tackle academic challenges but also fosters a sense of community and shared academic purpose.

Service Hours FAQ
Homecoming is coming up next month and we are working hard in the Campus Ministry Office to make sure students understand how to get their service hours logged so they are eligible to go to the Dance. Your Sophomore, Junior, or Senior student will have received a message from Mrs. Dahlgren if they have not yet completed previous school year's service hours. Please check with them to see where they are with their service hours.
Quick Reminder what it says in our Service Requirements Letter found on our school website under Faith and Service: By September 1st, to be eligible to go to HOMECOMING, you must complete your previous years' service hours. By April 30th, to be eligible to go to PROM, you must complete this year and all previous years' service hours. By May 15th, to be eligible to walk at GRADUATION, you must complete 9th-12th grade’s service hours.
We want ALL students to be able to celebrate Homecoming by going to the Dance. Campus Ministry has extended the due date for service hours to September 12th.
Please note that this is just one of the requirements to be eligible to go to the dance, students must be in good standing (aka: attendance/grades/etc) and purchase a ticket to go. Ticket information will come out in a few weeks so keep an eye out for it.
