Assistant Principal Notes
Hey Angel Nation!
We've been in school for a full calendar month! It's hard to believe that we're already halfway through Quarter 1 already. That being said, here are a few reminders going into the second half of Quarter 1!
Check your grades!
-With Quarter 1 being halfway done, you should know where you stand grade wise in all of your classes. You want to make sure that you're turning in your formative assessments and your summative assessments. Remember that you need all of your formatives turned in if you want to request a retake of your summative! Plus, those formative assessments help you perform better on your summative assessments. Remember, practice matters!
Remember the dress code!
-Make sure any non-SCHS hoodies find their way to your locker at the beginning of the day. If you're wearing a hoodie, it needs to be St. Cat's and the hood must be down. Please remember that black jeans are not dress code appropriate. Your pants must be dress pants. As always, please make sure you're following the dress code because multiple occurrences of dress code violations will lead to consequences.
Yondr Pouches should be purchased and used every day!
-Your Yondr pouch should have your phone in it before you walk into school in the morning. When you walk in, you should show the counselors or admin that you have your phone in the pouch and that it's properly closed. If you don't have a Yondr, please see the wonderful ladies in the main office so you can pick one up for $30. If you are caught with your phone out of the Yondr pouch, the phone will be confiscated and your parent/guardian will need to come to St. Cat's to pick it up.
Tardies
-Angels, you need to make sure to be in class before the bell rings. The bell is not a reminder that class started and that you need to hurry there. When the bell rings, you need to be in your seat and ready to learn! Multiple tardies will lead to consequences. If you're missing class, you're missing valuable information that will help you best succeed in class!
I hope that the first month of school has gone well for all of you and I can't wait to see how the rest of the year goes!

Apprenticeships and Internships
SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS:
SC Johnson is offering a Youth Apprenticeship opportunity to Sophomores and Juniors who are thinking of pursuing manufacturing careers. If you think working with machinery and learning how manufacturing systems work, this would be a great chance to learn workplace skills like time management and attention to detail, as well as build your resume. This is a PAID apprenticeship! If chosen, this opportunity could possibly lead to full time employment with SCJ after high school graduation.
Students interested in this program should have taken or will be taking Introduction to Engineering Design or Principles of Engineering.
There will be an informational meeting about the program on Thursday, October 2nd at 8:30 am. Please fill out the form BELOW if you are interested in joining the meeting.
CLICK HERE FOR THE LINK TO THE FORM.
JUNIORS & SENIORS:
SC Johnson is offering a Summer internship opportunity to Juniors and Seniors who are thinking of pursuing Corporate Finance /Accounting or Research and Development, IT and Marketing as careers. If you like math, science/STEM subjects, this would be a great chance to learn great professional skills as well as build your resume. If chosen, this opportunity can extend into your sophomore year in college!
There will be an informational meeting about the program on Thursday, October 2nd at 8:30 am. Please fill out the form if you are interested in joining the meeting.

PLEASE SEND YOUR RESPONSE BY MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 29.
CONTACT YOUR COUNSELOR:
Ms. Knoell is responsible for students with last names starting with A-K
Mrs. MacDougall is responsible for students with last names starting with L-Z
Class of 2026 is slightly different with the split being Knoell A-L, MacDougall M-Z
🏫 Our first college visit will be from St. Norbert College, October 1st @ 9:00-9:45am, meeting in the Learning Commons. We will be sending out a survey to Seniors for suggestions on which schools they would like to meet with in the coming months.
🏦 Seniors also need to be on the lookout for information coming about FAFSA Night. The 2026-27 FAFSA opens October 1st, and we will host an evening for students and their parents later in October to attend an informational session to learn more about the application process.
📓 The counselors will begin meeting with all grade levels to share information, discuss future college and career plans, and offer assistance for anyone who needs support.
📥 Students: CHECK YOUR EMAIL!!! Your teachers, counselors and administrators communicate frequently through email, so it is important that you check it throughout the day. This goes double for Seniors who are waiting on responses from colleges or scholarships.
🗓️ Schedule changes have been over for several weeks. Students, please do not make requests to make changes in your first semester courses. If you need help in a class, or need help communicating with a teacher, we will be happy to work with you on that.
College Rep Visits
Seniors!
Many of you have begun asking about transcripts and college applications. In order for the counselors to assist you in this process you will need to connect your Xello account and your Common App account. I am attaching instructions on how to complete this process.
Once the accounts are connected, Mrs. MacDougall and Ms. Knoell are able to approve transcript requests and submit recommendations if applicable. Please read the instructions carefully and reach out to us if you need further assistance.
