Dear Angel Community,
This past weekend, our thoughts have been heavy following the reports of violence in the city that oversees our community. These events can understandably cause concern and anxiety for all of us. Please know that we are holding all those affected in our hearts and prayers.
On Tuesday, we held a special adoration and prayer led by Fr. Richter for all those involved during our school liturgy. It is important that we turn to our faith and community for strength during challenging times. The safety and well-being of your children is, and always will be, our highest priority. We are dedicated to keeping our students safe within the walls of our school.
We understand that in times like these, clear communication is essential. I commit to being as transparent as possible with you at all times regarding our safety protocols and any relevant school-related matters.I want to assure you that we are continually preparing for a range of emergency situations. Recently, we successfully conducted a practice of our evacuation plan. Monthly we take time to go over drills and answer questions that students may have.
It is our practice to prepare for these situations and discuss them with our students frequently. Our goal is to make our students prepared, not scared. We focus on giving them the knowledge they need to be safe and responsive in an emergency.
Thank you for your continued trust and support as we work together to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for every child. If you have any specific questions about our safety procedures, please do not hesitate to contact me.
FOOTBALL Playoffs, tonight 7 pm, Horlick Field. Come and cheer our team on!
Recently, the faculty took some time to write notes of thanks to each other. During this month of November, please take time as a family to reflect on all your blessings and share gratitude with others.
Thank you to the students for assisting with the videoing this week, they can enjoy a dress down day on Monday (no pajamas).
With Gratitude,
Mrs. Schumacher
Dear St. Catherine’s Community,
Last weekend, the pain of violence rang out once again in our community. We are moved with compassion for all those effected by this injustice, to weep with those who weep (Romans 12:15), and as Christians, to lift them up in prayer. As Catholics, one of the most powerful forms of prayer is Adoration. This is prayer in the presence of the Eucharist, the bread and wine which becomes the body and blood of Jesus Christ, God Himself, during Mass.
On Tuesday, November 4th, we concluded Mass at St. Catherine’s High School with 30 minutes of adoration for all those effected by the violence, and for an end to violence in our community. Tomorrow, Friday, November 7th, we will have Adoration from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (2201 Northwestern Ave, Racine, WI 53404). I invite you, regardless of your faith background, to stop by during this time of Adoration tomorrow for any amount of time to pray for an end to violence in our community and the safety of our children and families.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for you are with me (Psalm 23:4).
--Fr. Richter
(Salmo 23,4)
--Padre Richter
