The purpose of a health and safety and risk assessments is not to stop you from carrying out any fieldwork you want to do. It is to minimize any risks or hazards that you may encounter by putting control measures in place. Risk assessments are a written record of you stopping and thinking before you carry out any fieldwork.
Access to the Health and Safety Blackboard site
All students are given access to the Blackboard Health and Safety site. This is where all the documentation, forms and guidance is located.Â
To access the Health and Safety blackboard site, first log into the University website and open Blackboard. Click on the courses tab on the left hand side, and then scroll down to the course called 'JNL Health & Safety (Academic Year 2023-2024).' Please ensure that the academic year is the current academic year.
Please note that if you can't see the correct Health and Safety folder, you need select the current courses drop down menu at the top of the screen.
