No matter what stage you are in your degree, it is not too early or too late to start your employability journey. Please do not feel overwhelmed by the amount of information, resources, and activities on this site; there are dedicated pages for you to focus on and a structure for you to follow if this is helpful. You can also access the information, resources, and activities however you like - this site is created to help you feel confident in developing your employability in a way that feels most authentic and helpful for you.
Your Undergraduate Employability Journey starts here, in Year One. This year's focus is 'Explore'—this covers exploring yourself, the support that is on offer at the university, and settling into university life. As you can see from the graphic below, starting your journey with 'explore' will lay the foundation for future year's focuses.
It can feel overwhelming having to think about your employability and future career choices when you have just started your degree. You don't need to think that far into the future this year if you don't want to - knowing where you can find support when you need it is the first step in developing your employability.
If you are coming to this page and you are already part-way into your degree experience, then view this Year One page as Stage One - you can use this page as a starting point or to help you fill in any gaps in your employability journey.
Exploring the opportunities offered by the university (including academic, personal, social, and professional opportunities) can help you know what will make your degree experience the best version for you - this exploration is a key skill in developing your employability. All you need to do during this year/stage is explore what is out there, what you want to do, what you don't want to do, and try new things!
To help you explore, you have a checklist for each semester and a page dedicated to each key Reflection Point throughout the year.
