The circuit in Fig 1, uses a UM3561 Integrated Circuit (IC) to generate a siren sound. It is a great little circuit which you can have plenty of fun with whilst also letting you practice your use of Transistors and giving you plenty of practice using a breadboard (Fig 2).
You can also alter the configuration of the circuit by setting it up as shown in Fig 3. You will notice in my circuit (Fig 2) that I have removed R2 and the connection at pin 5 – try it with and without R2 and pin 5 connected to see what happens. Could you set the trigger with another circuit or sensor?
This circuit uses a 3V supply – you risk blowing the IC if you use a higher voltage.
