Soldering is a fairly simple process when you follow a few straightforward rules:Remember to always stay safe by wearing safety goggles and tying back long hair. The Soldering Iron tip can be a very high temperature so DON’T touch it!It is usually more comfortable to Solder in a seated position, but some people choose to stand – either is ok depending on which is better for you. When you are not using the Soldering Iron, always place it back in the stand, never leave it lying on the desk. The four main steps to soldering are:- IRON ON – Place the tip of the Soldering Iron onto the joint you wish to solder and allow the joint to get hot for a couple of seconds.
- SOLDER ON – Using your other hand, feed a small amount of solder onto the joint, the solder should melt around the joint.
- SOLDER OFF – Remove the solder once it has melted but keep the Soldering Iron in place.
- IRON OFF – Remove the soldering iron from the joint and place it back in its stand.
