Males in Saudi society aren’t really restricted at all. However there are some simple common sense rules you need to follow.
If asked to leave a place of business because of prayer time, always comply.
Avoid making eye contact or talking to Saudi women.
Do not ask Saudi men about female members of their family.
Do not state political opinions, or religious affiliations in public (keep it for the compound if necessary).
Some malls won’t let you in if you are wearing shorts.
As a single man you won’t be allowed to sit in family areas. You must sit in the appropriate area for your situation (i.e the “singles” section).
If you make a mistake, don’t worry too much, just smile and comply with what you are being asked to do.
