Our site is weeks old. More information is coming.
What’s my password?
– See your team leader to get your login information for the first time.
What’s my username?
– Your username is probably your first name followed by your initial; all lowercase.
eg. Kim Chee = kimc
I forgot my password, how can I get a new one?
– Please click on “Forgotten your username or password?” Put in your Shabaka email address and you will be sent a reset password.
What happened to my attendance? I entered it and then when I went back it was gone.
– It can happen that it doesn’t enter correctly into the database when you submit something into Moodle. Please don’t ask why because the answer might not make it clearer. Please re-enter the grades or attendance and try again.
Why doesn’t the Moodle always save my grades or attendance when I enter them?
– Please see above answer.
Grades from Scantrons: How to get the grades? Why is my student’s grade wrong or missing?
– Two things are important here; that the student IDnumber is correct in Moodle and corresponding with the university registration system, and that the student uses the correct number neatly on the scantron card. Mistakes between these factors can cause the grade to not be found for uploading.
Team leaders have access to student scantron cards; you can track down the card and individually enter the grade for them. Please also try to find the problem with it, so you can correct it for future tests. As mentioned above, the ID# in Moodle must match the one in the university registration system. We don’t only use it to match grades. It’s used to prepare the student’s final report as well. So having it correct in Moodle is essential. The paper attendance rosters for the week or for proctoring will show the ID# Moodle currently has.
As for the missing items themselves, see your team leader, please find the grade written on the sides of the scantron card and manually enter the grade for that test. To reduce the incidents of missing grades, the student must be made away of how to complete the scantron accurately.
How do I put pictures of my students on their profiles?
Actually, students can do this themselves, however, you are encouraged to do it for them because it would be nice have all students with photos by the end of the quarter. This will make it nice for their next teacher to remember names.
Take photos of them with your camera or phone; rename the JPG files to be their student numbers only (as per the weekly attendance roster). For example, the file might look like this: “213111737.jpg.” Now put them all in a ZIP file and send them by email to Joel.
